Domain Registration - What should I do?

Hi Warriors.

I have just registered a couple of domain names. One being www.twitter-verse dot net.

Where is the best place to park them? I just don't have the time to use it at the minute.

It's not something I've done much of!

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

Dave

Hmm...once you buy a domain isn't it already parked with the registrar you used? Perhaps your definition of a parked domain is different from my understanding.

There is a site that, if you park your domain(s) with them, they will monetize it with advertising for you and split any money earned with you. There probably isn't much money in it, but that might be a solution for you until you're ready to do something with them. I don't remember the name of the service offhand, but you can read a review of it at htmlville.com

Dennis: No, not unless you specifically choose that option. It's rarely a good idea to park at the same place the name is registered.

Dave: Parked.com is among the best, if you're going to go with a parking service. But with a name like twitter-verse dot net, you're not going to get much action from parking anyway because it's not a name that lends itself to type-in traffic. Unless of course it already has traffic going to it.

It looks like you want to make some money form the parked domain. How about forwarding the domain to a Twitter related product with your affiliate link.

    Hi Guys.

Thanks for the responses. The reason I bought the domain was that twitter-verse is a new buzz-word (universe). I plan to turn it into a resource for twitter users eventually.

What I may do is set-up a blog and get it posting automatically with twitter themed articles etc.

I know there isn't much money in parking domains, but it beats giving someone free advertising!

    Thanks

    Dave

I parked some domains before using sedo and domainsponsor but not now because there are several ways to profit on your good domains.

Making money from parked domains is history(at least for the majority of domains out there). Write a couple of articles and just see what happens. If you start getting traffic, link to a product promoting something related to twitter. Optionally you can create a newsletter to capture leads.

You can monetize domains through Adsense. Why not just set them up there until you want to use the domains for something else?

You could check out Buy, Sell, Appraise and Auction Domain Names at Sedo, the #1 domain name aftermarket, broker, reseller, and appraiser! and see what you can do with your domain name on the site. You could as well monetize the domain name by using google adsense. Twitter is a popular word these days.

    All the best.
