To become successful it is very important that you contribute 1 skill to the endeavor. this could be
- web development
- databases
- copy writing etc...

Just one skill the rest is all management and investment.

investing in people to do the things that you cant and managing the progress and development of the projects you are developing.

Just management and investment. lol simple....

I have completed many successful projects without contributing 1 technical skill like you mentioned... You don't need any of those skills if you are willing to do the management and investment (not even 1).

Your half correct. What you forget is that management IS a skill. One that very few people posses. Most people cant even manage themselves. Further even with this skill or any skill, success is never guaranteed.

Maybe you wanted to say that's waaay easier when you have a skill than when you want to try something without knowing anything.

I don't know where I got this idea, maybe Jim Rohn but your value and how fast you succeed relies on skills... you've got a lot of skills then you will be successful faster. Also, try to get skilled in a market where there's demand and room for more suppliers or innovation (can anybody say INTERNET MARKETING?). If Your only skill is to dig wholes in the ground... you're already dead because an excavator does in a day what you do in a month.

This is 2013. You need more than one skill nowadays. You should have a relatively strong working knowledge of everything you listed and quite a bit more.

You don't need any of the technical skills you've outlined above.

All you need is the motivation and drive. Everything else you just get someone else to do it for you.

I only agree with copywriting skill, I know some freelancer who can write an really good ads with their copywriting skill, he also know how to develop a web. That is why I want to pay a considerable amount of money for my squeeze page. It is an expensive skill to have in the internet marketing world. web developing or databases can be learner in school, but copywriting require real experience and a very good sense.

I'm not sure why this is a profound realization for you.

I think your brain has recieved a sign or symbol that success don't always have to be complicated, which it doesn't. And it seems like your mind is trying to backwards rationalize/oversimplify and basically jumped at the first conclusion it reached.

You are right. Its profound to realize that success it often a lot simpler than we make it. But I think you took the simplification process a little too far. Its like learning how to balance your first chemistry equation. Then you get excited and think "damn, it really isn't that hard!"

Untill you move on to the next equation. =]

But then you solve enough problems, that you realize its not as hard as you once thought.

The real key is persistent learning, testing and application. Its vague yes, extremely boring to hear, but probably the most consistent formula for success. I think science has also given us enough evidence to prove that it works. Most people just hate to believe its really that simple. But when you succeed in life, you're not really doing anything else imo. Its just one giant cycle of learning, testing and applying.
