Quality of List Subscribers From Giveaways?

Warriors,

Once again I am considering joining giveaways to build a list but was once again questioning the quality of the list subscribers.

I know that many giveaway joiners do so for the free stuff they can get (and who can blame them) but from what I understand many will opt out of a list after getting their giveaway effectively rendering the opportunity as seemingly a waste of time.

So what's your opinion on joining giveaways to help build a quality list?

I have use giveaway events to build my list, and have has success with them. I find them to be a very low cost and efficient way to get subscribers in the Internet Marketing Niche.

Here are some stats from my Aweber account:
15% of subscribers on my giveaways list unsubscribe
27% of subscribers open my messages (Average)
32% of subscribers click the links in my messages (Average)

I have had the most success when I take the upgrade offer. This allows me to have my giveaway product listed above those that did not upgrade, which is usually closer to the first page. I also get to add text and banner ads. I use those to link to affiliate programs.

I would recommend you give, giveaways sites a try.

    Hi

I have used giveaway events to build my list. My sign-ups usually double during when I have my products on there, so it's good for numbers.

Personally, I have found the sign-ups to be pretty unresponsive (on the whole). There are a few people I have got to know who I speak to regularly, but I think most people are there to get as much free stuff as they can!

Just my opinion..from my experience. I'm sure some people have success with giveaways!

    Thanks

    Dave

You can build a solid follow up email campaign for your list acquired with Giveaways. Otherwise people will forget about having signed up for your gift. One of my campaigns automatically sends out 21 messages after they opt-in. Some will leave, some will stay.

If you can present PLR during a giveaway it'll generate most sign ups (for me it has), but if it doesn't let you, then gotta have something original gift accompanied with a great looking eCover.

As an avid giveaway fan, I can say that the only lists I unsubscribe from are those that send nothing but a constant barrage of 'special offers' of items I have already seen or even downloaded on other give aways.

Unfortunately, for most list owners, I am not a good prospect at the moment (can't buy anything) but that won't always be the case.

Would I join a give away? Only if it had contents that had not been massively donated before - after all, how many copies of 'Think and grow rich' does anybody need - to take an extreme example.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

I would stay away from giveaways they arent the best of ideas for list building. Use other places instead like twitter for example i can get double in a day what a whole giveaway would give me. Before all the giveaway pros jump out im talking about brand new products just for the giveaway not something old like most people seem to offer.

Hi dsmpublishing, can you tell us how you build your list using Twitter? Do you just send a tweet about a freebie you're giving away and get them to opt in from that? I'm looking to diversify for building my list too, so would love to know a successful way by using Twitter.
      Thanks,
      Paul
