        Hi,

I watched the first twenty seconds where he said 'You might find this hard to believe, but I have used visualisation with surprisingly good results' (or something like that) and then went back to what I was doing before.

Woohoo! Yeah, I like the song too. I thought there were only 6 of those videos, though? Didn't know there were more "mindmovies" ones floating about out there. Ah, well. You learn something new every minute.

It's perfectly okay to not understand this kind of stuff. Nobody actually does.

However, I find it really interesting that most, if not all, the people I met who achieved outstanding success (on all aspects of their lives) are into this kind of stuff.
I mean, let's take "financial success" as an example.
I have yet to meet someone who makes more than 200 grand a year PLUS lives a healthy lifestyle, and does NOT believe in any "self help"/visualisation/the secret/new agey stuff.

So there might be something there to consider, right ? ;-)

If you consider what I said -

I watched the first twenty seconds where he said 'You might find this hard to believe, but I have used visualisation with surprisingly good results' (or something like that)
you will see that when I responded -

I could just as easily be referring to 'not believing in the whole concept' as I could be referring to 'not believing that the person has actually used visualisation with surprisingly good results.'

Perhaps I was paying a backwards compliment towards the marketer for his ability to be a successful purveyor of anything.

So there might be something there to consider, right ? ;-)
There's always something to consider, if you ask me

I have yet to meet someone who makes more than 200 grand a year PLUS lives a healthy lifestyle, and does NOT believe in any "self help"/visualisation/the secret/new agey stuff.
I've met both types - some who believe in some of those things (not LOA/the secret type stuff - more visualisation, self help/belief etc), and some who most definitely do not. In fact, more who do not.

The majority (in my experience) I would summarize as believing in supply meeting demand and greasing the necessary wheels. And I reckon they would tell you that those two things relegate any kind of self help/attraction secrets into insignificance.

                      Each to their own

                        @matthew :
Basically, visualization is just another way to say you have to know what you want... I believe that on a deep level, most successful people share common beliefs about life, money, goal-setting etc.

Do you actually know successful people who don't either set goals and desired outcomes, nor spend time "snowballing" their success by learning more (either with self help or broader "productivity" material) ?

It's nothing new, but for some people just discovering the mind-body connection and how we participate in shaping "reality", this could be helpful.

But the premise is thousand and thousands of years old. Same with "The Secret". Old stuff, with a new twist.

Here's my take on all this...

Just like the Pascal Wager (Pascal's Wager - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) this stuff could be total junk... BUT... what if it's not?

In reality even if we can't or don't actually manifest this stuff for ourselves by focusing on it and thinking about it aren't we better off for having given our lives direction and clarity?

I just see this as another version of goal setting: visualize what you want and then move to attain it.

I'm pretty sure (and yes I have MC Monthly) had Frank gotten out of IM after the FTC issues nothing he wrote in that notebook would have happened.

That's what eats me up about all these "transcendental idiots" out there who just think happy thoughts without any idea of the mechanics needed to attain the desired end goals... all of this stuff is a healthy combo of desires + goals + actions + modified actions because 99% of the time everything fails the first time + constant forward momentum.

But even with the people who are doing their best to become the next "transparent eyeball" I think they're going to be better off and vastly more happy than those who chose to adopt a negative outlook.

                              Hi Tony,

                              No problem my friend

                              Hi Jonny,

I generally agree but the bit of me that accepts that visualization is just another part of goal-setting, believes that goal setting only works when you 'just do it', whereas if you try and 'buy into it', that often negates the whole process due to the negative aspect of trying to 'buy success' rather then obtaining it through sheer willpower, determination and self-belief.

                              I hope that makes sense.

The title "mind movies" is quite catchy and easy to remember.

The concept of visualization/imaging is proven to improve performance for athletes, etc and can be a powerful tool in one's toolbox for success.

The quality and content of the videos is quite simple and plain. A few stock images, typed phrases and a song.

I don't know the background of the creator ... putting together effective motivational productions is quite tough.

Tony Robbins is very adept in this area.

If these videos help you, that is great.

Just make sure you keep one hand on your wallet if you ever get caught up in the hype of any motivational program

I've seen them...and I've seen others like them before on YouTube. I can't remember who that guy was in the one I saw on YouTube that impressed me so much, but he was real energetic and very excited about what he was saying and doing.

He moved his hands around his head while talking about redirecting neuron paths by watching movies (NLP guy), and it reminded me of the movie "Hook" where Hook says, I've just had an epipany! Lightning striking my brain" or something like that.

Anyway, yeah I saw them and I think its all possible. But then, I'm the "Idea Fairy" and a dreamer who sometimes confuses herself with God. (That last bit was a joke.)

I've had similar experiences. I went around for a few weeks telling myself I was a money magnet and that I attracted $100 bills. I have never had that many $100 bills pass through my hands before. <shrug> Was it positive thinking? Was it the Law Of Attraction? Who knows?

the hardest part in creating this is getting the right
music, pictures and for some the tech part of putting
      it together...

If you can use Windows Movie maker this is very simple
just add a few transition to your pictures you're done.

The thing people have to remember it's for them self and
not for the public just go wild when creating it and keep
      your core desires close...

I think this is something like a vision board right? Ive seen stuff like this from OneCoach Vision Board a long time ago.

I keep my own vision board at home in front of my pc. Pictures of things i want and would like to achieve. That way every time i take a glimpse up it catchs my eye and inprints the thought into my mind.

        • Didn't John Reese promote a free step by step guide that did most of this, and didn't (forget his name) the Warrior with the big public domain WSO basically outline the whole process on the old forum?

Is this something different? Am I getting confused?

but as always man Frank Kern does make
it seems you have to have it or know
            about it...lol
