Hi,

I own financeworld.com, and there is nothing there right now. But, it is an all encompassing domain that could go many ways in the finance industry, could be loans, credit cards, financing, investing and more.

Should I develop a blog, forum, financial social network, and any and every ideas that I could take to make this site the most value providing site in the finance industry would be appreciated. Has been trying to do something with this for a while, but I just couldn't think of anything that excites me.

I think it would be more profitable to just sell that domain. But if you want to keep it, follow something similar to investopedia

I really don't want to sell it, but I do know that everything does have a price. It is one of the better domains that I own.

The name www.financeworld.org is listed for sale for $2,488.00; how much would the .com version of that be worth? anyone know?

If you find the right buyer you could sell it for around 8-10K

          Says who?

A domain, like anything else, is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

It could be much more than that figure, it could be much less. Impossible to say until it's put to the market and someone actually bids on it.

Hence why I said "If you find the right buyer"

Great domain name! You can probably sell it for a lot of money if you know where to list it.

I think it would be better if you develop it. Once you earn something then you could decide to sell it for much more money.

Financialworld.com sounds like it should be a site like motley fool. Just my opinion.

Perhaps social network of finance professional would work, like linkedin for finance people.

I agree, finance social network can be a great idea, but only if you understand the investment you will have to make in order to develop such a website, otherwise, sell it. You can get a good price for it.

I don't know how you should monetize it, but I know one thing - It's superb for branding!

If that isn't your niche and you are thinking of creating a site under it just because it is a good name I would say don't. If the value of the .org is that high, the .com has even more value. You could list it on Flippa and see what types of offers you get.

Ask yourself what audience you want to reach, and how you can make money from that audience. The blog/forum approach is the simplest, but there are two possible approaches: 1) consumer oriented, and monetize with ads aimed at consumers; 2) limit it to finance industry professionals, and monetize with informational product aimed at them.

    Just my two cents.

Deciding on the right topic for the site is made all the more harder by the fact that it could go in so many ways. And that would mean that the website would be a good fit for a news aggregator type of site for the finance industry.

I'm not really sure financial products that are used by finance industry professionals. You mean financial advisor training, how to get more financial planning clients, investor clients, how to be a better insurance agent etc etc. Or it could be a major affiliate site for financial type products. So many directions you can go with a site like this.

    Great domain name!!

Sit down sometime and write down the ideas that pop into your head
about financial stuff that is at least mildly interesting to you.
Personal finance? Business finance? and so on....

JV with someone who is excited about the financial niches that you come up
    with.

Blog about smart personal money management?
Become a trusted source like Dave Ramsey.

Not my expertise, but a site with traffic is probably worth more than
just a domain - if you decide to sell. Flippa or godaddy auctions are
places to begin to get info about worth. That said, I'm not a "domainer"
and I'd check with Warrior: View Profile: Gene Pimentel
or others who are experts at flipping sites or domains.

I don't think you will get much for that domain.
You have to have authority to be able to adjust high price.
