Is anyone else having problems accessing Twitter

I've had problems for several hours now, did someone break it :confused:

  • There has been a lot of problems lately with Twitter. I think it's growing so fast and they are trying to keep up.

  • Yes, it is down right now. The API is completely choked down as well.
  • I believe a lot of things is going on, the fast growing audience and possibly the idea that Google might be buying Twitter. Who knows, but I believe it will settle down in a week or so.

    Yes it's all over the shop recently. Rather unstable. Looks like they need a back office major update.

  • I dont think a day has gone by where I havent seen the "fail whale" at least once. Seems the past few days they have been having some vicious attacks... you can check the status here: Twitter Status
  • I've been seeing a lot of twitter users complaining as well. And as Jason said, I've seen the "fail wail" almost everyday myself. (:

    Twitter is definitely going through a big growth spurt. Hopefully, things will get settled soon.

    • I have yet to see a "fail whale" on Twitter. Then again, I mostly use TwitterFox to view the tweet-stream.

      The internet, as a whole, has been terrible for me all day. Frankly, for the last month or so.
  • Hi Kim:

    Twitter often has periods where it is very hard to sign in or move around the site. Sunday eastern time 7-10 was nearly impossible.

    It did get rectified and I hope the same on your end.

  • I heard Twitter's been acting up because of Ashton, Oprah, and CNN overload.
  • i just started on twitter yesterday afternoon and it was fine. now i'm hooked on making twitter backgrounds, oy. can't get away from it! Plus I bought TwitterHelps.com domain name, I need to get away from this computer, everything snowballs!

    • Couple of news stations were reporting twitter problems Friday - said the "growth of users was overloading it" and causing downtime.

      I thought the wording was odd as I didn't twitter made you grow.

    • Curious, wouldn't Twitter have rights to that domain? Remember reading sometime ago that you should only buy generic domain names. Does that still apply?
  • Mine is ok but i have had lots of problems lately i.e the figures not showing up properly or the direct messages not working.

    • My twitter has been working fine most of the time... I do know they are making some changes to the API
