Writing Books All Changed When I Started Doing This!

Here is a book writing tip that helped me. I didn't hear it anywhere but I'm sure many others have said it and done it. This method won't work for everyone and not even every type of book, but it absolutely works for me.

Writing a book can seem very overwhelming. Many words are involved and it can seem like it will take FOREVER.

In fact, because of that, I think MANY people end up giving up the thought of writing a book. Either that, or they start and then quit.

Long ago, I was one of those people, but it all changed when I made one little shift in my thinking and actions.

I wrote 1 chapter a day. No more, no less. 1 chapter.

Just 1 chapter isn't intimidating, it's not overwhelming, and it's completely do-able. In fact, if you do it, you'll find that you have written an entire book in a few weeks or a month or so.

I had even considered writing a book about writing 1 chapter a day although there might already be one out there, I've never checked.

Bottom line...don't let the fear or intimidation of writing a huge book stop you. You can write a chapter a day. Everybody can write a chapter a day.

  • Nice tip, thanks for sharing. How many chapters do you put on average in your book?

This worked for me as well. Thinking about the big picture sometimes may be really daunting so divide your big picture into smaller bite size pieces then it will become much more realistic.

Yes simply breaking down any task into manageable bite size pieces also works for me :-)

You can write a chapter every day, but you must have in mind everything you want to write and share your chapters before writing anything. You must know how the ebook will be in the end.

    Organization is the key.

Congrats! I think that is great advice. I just want to add starting with an outline also helps. The title(which could change later)- name of chapters and how many pages you want your book to be.

When I saw your OP, I knew you were going to say that. Taking one step at a time but consistently. This is why I choose 'Daily' as my option. Small little steps can have you to achieve something great. Thanks for reminding us again. Cheers Warriors!

yeah, that will work, instead of getting overwhelmed by the whole ebook plan. I usually make a simple structure and divide my work load into several chapter to make sure everything is in piece. but I don't continue my the next day with writing the next chapter. I take it slow and proofread it, change it, fix it, and evaluate it bit by bit. because I am bit of perfectionist.

I remember Zig Ziglar saying for his bestseller See You at the Top he actually wrote it at the rate of one page per day

Maybe there can be a thread or somewhere that we can have a few people willing to commit to 1 chapter a day post their progress. Heck, you could even crowdsource some of your chapters etc. Lots of options!
