Google Webmaster Sitemap Question

Hello everyone, for some reason I cannot seem to add my sitemap to my new page. People keep telling me it is b/c of a .htaccess file on my server but I have looked over and over again and do not see that file anywhere.

Here is the error i get:

We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.

Network unreachable: robots.txt unreachableWe were unable to crawl your Sitemap because we found a robots.txt file at the root of your site but were unable to download it. Please ensure that it is accessible or remove it completely.

Can someone please help me get this resolved.

    It seems that there is a problem with your robots.txt.

    You can take a look at your root folder and find the robots.txt file.

    Make sure it has the right permission that allows Google bots to access.

    If you are confused about the permission, try to remove the robots.txt.
