Darn Google Analytics!

I have many websites with Analytics...all on one user account and with one gmail address. However, with one of the websites that I own, I used Analytics code that I cannot find on the account with all of my other tracking codes.

I can easily retrieve the UA number from the source code...
BUT how can I retrieve the data or prove that I am the owner of it if I don't know what gmail address I used for it? I cant ask for password help because it will get me info on the account I already know...

Any ideas?

Go WF!

Your question is a bit confusing, you say you only have one Google account, but your site is not on your Analytics? if not you didn't add it. Add it again in your admin panel get the code and put it on your site.

If you did add it and it doesn't appear on your admin page contact Google.

The problem is I don't know of a way to add existing code. I mean...anybody can do that just by copying any code they want from the source. All the sites that I have under this particular login address were put in first and then the code was generated afterwards by Google.

In answer to your question...It is obvious I used another email address for this particular site...I just don't know which. That is why I am stuck...

Have you got backups of your emails?
Did you add the account you cannot find to gmail?
Have you checked your Google account profile for any info?

This won't help much, but can I just say.... I hate Google Analytics for this very reason. I use it, of course, but it makes me feel so dumb.

I can totally understand how you lost your login for it. It's so hard to understand that it can mess you up completely, to the point of forgetting your email address.

Whew! I've been holding that in for years. I feel better.

To try to help, I supposed I would enter in all of my email addresses and click on "Forgot Password." Hopefully you'll find the right one.

Or simply update the code on the site to your new account under the address you know and move on collecting data going forward.

Yeah...I did that...thanks. Problem is I'll never know what I had up to this point.
