Best Payment Method for a Website Subscription for Highest Conversion Rates?

What I mean by this is, let's say you're selling a subscription for a web software.
What is the best payment method that yields the highest conversion rates? Please give different insights on this, with your personal experiences not just a "I think yearly works".
Incriments of monthly payments, daily, weekly, yearly, etc? One time payments are out of the question.

    I have had success in the past with monthly payments but also offering them the chance to purchase 6 months access upfront at a reduced fee.

    I think weekly is too often as they tend to notice the money going and going a lot more. Yearly is way too far apart because by the time you come to ask for their payment the next year, it's highly probable they have forgotten who you are.

    Monthly is much better in that it's regular and almost like paying something off. You will see most companies who offer loans, repayments, etc always have monthly repayments and so that's what consumers have been trained to be comfortable with.
