      i created an account with differant email addresse, but now i changed it to my wife name.

      is this step safe for my new account ?

    • In that case can one add links (with new id) to the same sites? E.g. A person 'A has a site 'X' and had amazon affiliate links on the site. But now her (A's) account is closed. Later A sold that site to B. Can the new owner (b) add 'amazon affiliate links' on the 'X' site?

  • In case you still don't know, here is what Amazon says you did:
    "27. You will not artificially generate clicks or impressions on your site or create Sessions on the Amazon Site, whether by way of a robot or software program or otherwise."

    And, they also say they will close all other current and future accounts you may open...
    They will find out eventually, maybe you should move on to something else.
  • I would not advise it.
    If they feel you've gone against their terms it would not look good to try and start up again.
  • you broke a very important advertising law - never increase the rate of impressions with false clicks and page loads. This changes the game for the vendors. Anyways try using your faily members but do not do such things and get yourself in trouble. Breaking TOS can cause a termination on ip, website, traffic source etc.

  • it's more than 16 days i was creating my new account, and it's still normal.
    but on my closed account they remove the yellow message , and they show it again 2 days ago.

      You've been fired for breaking the rules.

      Stopping breaking the rules doesn't undo your past transgressions or get you unfired.

      And the last sentence means they reserve the right to sue you to make you stop, and/or to recover what they've paid you in the past, and/or for damages.

      Isn't the 2nd to last sentence clear enough? The don't want to work with you again.

    • Visitors to your affiliate links are supposed to be real people voluntarily clicking on them.

      Amazon thinks you use some trick to boost your stats.

  • It appears you are using some sort of tool or method that is "forcing" or "faking" Amazon sessions (cookies) without an actual human making a voluntary click.

    If you really don't know what is going on and and you are doing this "by accident" then you should review how you have set up your Amazon links and the tools/plugins you use.

    Many people get in trouble for using "link cloaking" software that uses iframes in violation of Amazon ToS.

    It could be something like that.

    Find out what it is. Fix it and then tell Amazon you have corrected the problem, were unaware it was occurring, beg forgiveness and they may reactivate your account.

    I have no idea if Amazon reverses these kinds of decisions. Google (AdSense) rarely does.

    • Thanks OnSubie for your clear information. Sometimes when people start out they do not really know what they are doing. Alot of software, including canned Amazon software cloaks links. Also with all the hype around about not having to know anything in order to make money online and how simple it is, it can be understandable to make an error. Even if you read things they don't make much sense. If someone wants to make a product - Make a Set of Videos showing someone doing the things that will get you banned...for example.
  • The biggest problem is How Amazon found whether or not you have forced the visitors go to amazon.com? Any tech variables between the visitor webbrowser and Amazon server can show the truth? Or any other method they use. That's the biggest problem I am confused.
  • You know this is a very interesting and educational thread and I do believe that the op got himself unwittingly into this mess by buying one to many sneaky trick gimmicks.

    It is hard to tell before hand what will get you banned from a program like this. It nigh impossible to tell for example if the wso I purchased 2 months ago but have never used like rank leap and social rank will put me at risk of what the op has experienced and that is why I have never used them.

    • It's not necessarily a sneaky gimmick. Tons of marketers use exit pops on their pages. Some of those exit pops include an URL redirect that cookies your affiliate link. It's possible to obliviously cookie stuff without realizing it.

  • If you really want to continue with them maybe consider changing ISP provider and do through an account with a different last name ham yours

    • Even if you get new account with different details, can you place amazon links to the same old sites? I doubt.
  • I was banned from the amazon affiliate program a couple years ago for cookie stuffing. I lost my account with 5,000 dollars cash in it. DO NOT open a new account without their consent. Others have done this in the past, and they WILL ban you again, right before they have to pay you a check. It's not enough to change your IP address during sign up, if you have the same ip during a single sign in, they will investigate further and POOF!

    If you're curious what happened to me... I begged for a new account and was declined. I then begged, begged and begged some more. Eventually they agreed to let me back into there program <--- HUGE relief. Amazon is a conversion machine.

    What I did to get back into their good graces... I told them that I researched why I got banned, and while I didn't understand what I was doing wrong at the time, I'm now fully aware of the TOS.

    Now I'm back baby. And i sure as heck follow the rules.

    • Did they start out saying the decision was final? What level of groveling did you resort to? Just how did you word your begging and how many messages did it take, if you don't mind sharing?
  • Good comment by Brendan, so I think if you choose for asking a readmission, wait a time till you have a site that is all ok

    While as an alternative I have heard of "skimlimks", a company through which you can promote amazon products. I have not used it because didn't have the need, just heard about
  • When amazon associates account closed. it's difficult to reactive again. I think you should to open new account with different name / bank account.

    in 2011 my account closed with no best reason. I guess main of reason in my case that I can make many money

    • What were you doing to get such large numbers of visitors but a conversion rate of 0.46%?

      Amazon don't close your account because you are making money, why would they do that?

  • Well you can't if your credentials are the same. So once you signed up for another account again, you will get deleted again. I have a friend who had the same problem, and there's nothing he can do about it.

    However, you can open another account using your another bank account and name. There's no possibility that Amazon moderators will know that it is still you.
  • You could always try using Viglink... I'm in Illinois, so that's the route I'm taking.

    Actually, to be perfectly honest, with them having what tends to be a higher commission percentage to start with, them taking their cut doesn't seem to sting much at all. I'm really tempted to use them for a variety of different offers...

  • Well you can rent a mailbox anywhere you want. I have a street address in NY, Canada and Texas. So that shouldn't be a problem for you. I can't understand it, I don't do Amazon but they have not stopped me yet and I am in Texas, any Idea why.

    I mean I don't make new ones but I have old ones up and there still producing some.

  • I would leave it alone because if you don't they will eventually catch on. Also, looking over the shoulder or waiting for the other shoe to drop is too stressful.
  • I wouldn't suggest to re-open one, I think you should find an alternative to amazons' s associate program
  • Don't ban your wife account from Amazon as well, forget amazon for now.

    The chances is they will find the magical link between the two account ( Amazon goes further to close any account might be related )

  • I got the same message again! Seems like I was using a plugin to redirect traffic to Amazon and it was not a legit practice according to them!
  • I learned this lesson when many of my youtube channels got banned. Don't mess with huge authority sites that can make you lots of money for very short term gains.
  • I think a lot of Amazon affiliates get themselves into trouble when they buy one of the hundreds of Amazon "auto" review plugins that are on the market and they don't know exactly how the plugin functions. The plugin may have functions built into it that violate Amazon's TOS.

    People think that just because they bought a plugin it must follow Amazon's TOS. That's simply not true. Furthermore, I doubt Amazon would care if you told them it was the plugin's fault and not yours. The bottom line is the person who chooses to use the plugin is still at fault.
