What is Proof Really?

We always see someone put up a WSO saying "I made a bazillion dollars with this method" & there's no video/screenshots of "proof". Several someones will start posting "that's nice but where's the PROOF?" or "this sounds like theory, show us proof you made money with this"

Aside from the fact that you can fake the "proof", how do you REALLY prove you've made something with a method? With Clickbank, yes I can show you $5,000 earnings BUT we all know there's the chargebacks/refunds eating into that, so might have only made $3,000. I can show you my Paypal screen shots but it's not PROVING to you that I made a dime from what I'm selling you. I could be doing 3 or 4 income streams & the money is coming from all or one of those.

Does a screenshot or someone logging into their account change it from "theory" to "proof" for you? With the source (i.e. a customer name or a company paying you) blurred out you don't know WHERE the money came from. I could have my friends send me money to in order show "proof" or I could be getting this money from a totally different method.

Maybe I haven't been deeply into it enough to understand what in the world "proof" does & how that magically changes something from being just theory into a legitimate way to make money.

I think the problem is when the product doesn't stack up.

When a product creator shows proof of xyz earnings, you believe you can copy that even if they don't specifically say it.

That's where the problem comes...I agree. Proof should only be shown if it is likely you can replicate the results!

In my opinion there's to such thing as real proof. Even if you provide an honest undoctored video or screenshot, the mere fact that they can be doctored will make it questionable for someone.

Skilled copywriters can create proof with words. Testimonials, facts, statistics, references and so on go a long way in most markets. If you're trying to sell to a crowd that only believes in screenshots or videos then you have to swallow it or choose another crowd to target.

Ya proof is used to sell a product. That's why you have to have an earnings disclaimer...

Your earnings are a direct result of what you DO and how much action you take.

Screenshots of earnings alone are not enough for me. Normally I research a lot about who this person is and what has he done in the past.

Also, as you get more experienced and actually do things yourself, I believe you will have a better feel for as to whether the seller's method actually will result into huge sales or not.

The only way to actually prove earnings is to get a CPA to audit all available sales records and certify his findings in writing. Then you can post his name by your claims. His ass is on the line if he lies. That's the only real way I know to provide real proof.

The closest thing to proof I have seen is a live case study - where you see the author set up the website, the campaign, shows the dates, shows every move, etc. Of course, even that is not cast-iron - perhaps some off-the-radar traffic moves have been made to improve performance.

Nothing beats your own data ...

Many years ago there was an ad copy with the headline:

    "DONT ENVY ME...JOIN ME!
    "

I'll spare the beautiful body copy. Anyway, he had a sworn statement from a CPA that said,

"I certify that Timothy J. West has a net worth of well over $5.2 million dollars and has an average monthly income volume that tips the scale of $50,000 all accomplished by opening bank accounts."
    Dallas A. Colfax, Accountant/CPA

    Powerful copy right there

The only proof that matters is the proof you are able to create for yourself. Even if someone can prove their own results, they generally mean nothing to you. It is almost impossible that two people following the same techniques will end up at the exact same outcome.

Thanks guys & gals! That's what I was thinking that the only real proof is YOU doing the work & getting results. Not the bazillion overnight your first time out the gate but getting a few dollars. Leaning, vamping, etc. then finally getting to that bazillion.

Regardless of how step by step something is, everyone is going to have their own success & failures.

there is no easy way proof can be verified and there isn't easy way fake proofs can be stopped. people use all sort of ethical / unethical methods to sell their products. I know well known IMers who fake their income.

Depending on the method, but live video logging in to show the earnings...

I believe a great way to show proof your product or system works is have show a recent video on exactly what the product has done for you.

Also getting several reviews will help add credibility/proof.
