Need Help with s2 Member

Ok so I need to get s2 set up and my membership site up and running available to the public asap!

There doesn't seem to be a straight forward tutorial on how to set up the offer page, how to upload and protect your content and.....yeah that's pretty much what I need to know.

Obviously I'm using wordpress and here is exactly what I need to do. I'll be so grateful for anyone who can help me!

I need to have a sales page that shows members what they will be getting access to. I want to offer a 6 months access to a bunch of mp3 files for $27

and I want to offer 1 year access to the same mp3 files for $37


Then I just need to know how to set up the members area so they can download the mp3's and yeah I mean I'm totally lost I'm trying to look up the info but if anyone can help or direct me to something that can help that would be great!

    S2 is ok for the budget conscious but I found that it really lacks a great deal of the features you really need these days if you want to bring a good product to your customers, I have seen tons of membership scripts, plugins, at one time or another I have seen or tried all of them and to date, most just do not cut the mustard.

    Most people will recommend wishlist and its not too bad but there are better products out there, the best I have seen to date is premise.

    If you have the cash to put into a product you will save a lot of time and effort in trying to get a freebie to work, nothing personally against S2 I just found the same things you did and once you get into it a little deeper you will see even more, but if your on a budget and dont have the cash you cant beat free...

    Yeah I have $0 to give at this point in time, and I only have a month worth of free hosting to get up and running and try to cover next payment. I'm watching that video now it's what I need, I guess I just need to set up the home page as the sales page then figure out how exactly to set up s2 member.

    I guess what I need to do is do all my selling on the home page right, and have the links go straight to the "Membership Options" page they want you to make?

    On this page I will offer 2 memberships, Semi-Yearly and Yearly and recap the benefits.

    After a member buys through paypal then what? I know they go to a registration page...


    Do I need to set up a log in page?

    This is where the "Log In Welcome" comes which I will call my Member's Area. This is the area that will have all my protected mp3 files I think....

    Im so lost lol....

    And I need to have a page full of posts that go over the basics of IM....setting up a awebsite, basic SEO, article marketing etc etc just little stuff like that but also protected. And don't worry people, I'm not trying to get in to the MMO niche...

    I'd be a bit of a jackass if I was and making these kind of posts lol!

    I agree with Tim. You can get all of the features you need to work with S2 but you need to allocate a lot of time to learn the ins and out, more so than other products. I'd say if you are able to teach newcomers S2 Member you have a product in the making, because their own documentation can be quite overwhelming.

      No kidding man! That's what I was saying all the way. I'm kind of figuring a ghetto-ish way to go, hoping I can get inital signups and improve later, but it's taking the form of a membership site!

      I just have to set up home page sales page, upload all my content and we're good to go!

      Then I just gotta hustle up some signups on my own, and I can put that money right in to setting up affiliate somehow.

      Next bread can go to pimpin out the site

    yeah I need some help actually, what's the best way to go about uploading large numbers of mp3 files ranging 4-8MB in size occasionally bigger, and protect them with s2?

    Members should be able to browse the mp3s and stream them and download the ones they like

    I got it to where I have a page that's protected on my site where I can offer the mp3's for download now. I have it set up for 6 month access and 1 year access.

    I have managed to upload some mp3's to my directory, and link to them through s2 member's protection method. Now I just have to figure out how I can get them streaming and protected at the same time.

    I also have it set up to where someone can register for free, see all the mp3's but can only download one. any other attempt to download leads to membership paypal buttons.

    I just need to get my page 1 sales page up and i'll be rockin and rollin as soon as I can figure this mp3 situation out and then write some basic IM content for musicians
