Youtube Song Lyric Videos- 1,000,000+ Views!

Hey guys,
I noticed that there are lots of Youtube videos that pretty much just play the song and the lyrics show as the song plays, many with Millions of views.

THey aren't anything fancy, straight to the point. They almost all have a link to the download site. I know you can become an affiliate to mp3 download sites and make $ per download. I wonder how much Money is made from these videos?

Is that infringing on their copyright? Does anyone know if this is legitimate?

    People upload those videos to get attention, they can't make money off of them. I posted a viral video before that got over 3 million views over night, but since I didn't own the material I couldn't profit from it. Maybe you could put an annotation to your other videos and siphon off the traffic.

      There's a spot where you can post a download link, and I know you can become an affiliate to song download sites. I'm thinking that if they post their

      download link they should be able to get some commissions. I'm just wondering how grey/black hat that is.

      it used to be very profitable years ago, especially for ring tones download... now you should make your research cause the companies take copyright issues extremely seriously now

    i have 1 video exactly like that with almost 10,000,000 views i have a link to a CPA offer, the video gives me traffic to my offer, it works good for me.

    if you do this, you run the risk of the video being automatically taken down due to copyright. but people have figured ways around this like changing the tempo or pitch of the song a little bit so it gets through the youtube filter.

      If you do so soon or later your video will be taken down. here goes a good idea, if you see a legal video with many views contact the user and tell him you can rent a space on his description, right bellow the video, and there you put your link.

      You can offer from 5 to 20 bucks per month

      Should it be a WSO? lol

    I guess they did not immediately do so.
    maybe they will bring the visitor to one page and that's where the new visitor in monetize.
    Maybe it could be a CPA, Adsense etc. ..

    I have always wondered what the risks were if you're linking to your Mp3 affiliate link....
    Maybe linking to your own music blog would be less of a risk?

    Good ideas though, asking the uploader to rent out the spot.Hmmmm
