I've had a little success with Amazon but to be honest I haven't thrown a lot of effort into it. I started selling some books, games, DVDs and music through video marketing (mainly YouTube) and later shifted my efforts to TVs (higher price therefore higher commission) through SEO.

While I haven't touched any of the campaigns in months, occasionally I still make a sale. Conversions are high so it takes very little traffic to make a sale.

Look at the Rich Jerk's Sneaky System if you want to see someone crushing it. I've seen the product and I'm pretty certain it'll work - I haven't actually taken action and tried it though - the logic is there but the method requires a lot of domain names/servers.

I think Amazon is great. They have everything so any possible product or topic you want to make a website on, you know you can monitize it with Amazon. And their affiliate tools are pretty spiffy now too.

Yes, the comission and cookie time suck, but I think it makes up for it with all the add-on sales. Most of my sales are not actually from the products that the user has clicked through but from "other" stuff they have purchased once they are on the Amazon site.

Plus, they do a pretty good job of offering "go-withs". I know most of the time that I buy something there I also buy something that is listed in the "other people who bought this also bought...." section.

Thank you for your feedback and thanks to everyone else. I liked what you said about how they cross promote well because that can lead to higher commissions. That is an excellent point. I am certainly going to pursue Amazon.com some more and see what happens.

Great brand, horrible commission structures and even worse affiliate tools. For a company that size you'd expect them to invest a little bit more in their affiliate relationships. I guess it doesn't matter anymore. Nowadays they depend much less on us than in the past.

I think Amazon is great. They have everything so any possible product or topic you want to make a website on, you know you can monitize it with Amazon.Recently I came to know that there is a website named AmazingWatcher.Com which is a free website that will "watch" items for you on Amazon and let you know when amazon has them in stock at regular retail price.It got so awesome!

Ive been promoting amazon products for some time now. Had much success from it! Went from $0 - $20 a day in just 3 months of learning SEO and implementing it with my method.

Pros and Cons of Amazon:

Pros:
1. It is a reputable company so people will easily trust the site and buy products from it.
2. Very easy to rank since there are thousands if not millions of products inside it.
3. Converts well if you are selling low to medium priced products.

Cons:
1. Low Commissions
2. If you are an international affiliate you need to wait for your check after 2 months

The strategy is to first change your fee structure into performance. Then look for a low priced item that sells well, this way you commission rate will easily go up allowing you to get more commission from the other items that you will sell in the long run. Hope this helps!

There was another thread I was just on where the guy made Hub pages for specific products and was making $3000 a day. He called it Amazon Blueprint. Neil V was his name. Absolutely amazing. So it must work. Will give it a try this weekend.

Are you referring to the title where he claims that he - 'consistently make Three Figures a Day In-Season'?

Therefore, 'in season' (I presume he means once a year at Christmas) he can make at least $100+ a day? Big difference.

You'll need a ton of volume. You'll need to get people to act RIGHT NOW and you'll need to accept the fact that most people buy small items so you need to have a plan to drive a lot of sales.

Amazon is the benefactor of their program and they use affiliates like no one else. As soon as they get an email address they will email the person you sent over and over like no one else. In any month I probably get 200 emails from Amazon.

If you want to make money real money and can not deliver loads of traffic then Amazon is a poor choice.

I have just started using Amazon on one of my sites to see how it goes. I'm just starting up again so have not applied to join CPA networks. I'm waiting till I get more traffic, but if Amazon goes well I'll leave it on.

What I find interesting is that even though I've only had about 50 visitors to my site Amazon stats are showing I've had over 500 clicks, with one sale (yippee my first 44 cents!). Does Amazon count each new item someone looks at as a click? Or does someone just have a fascination with clicking on my ads?

Amazon's commission level makes it such a tease. From now on I only do pages around big items that give me a sizable commission, otherwise it's almost a waste of time. Like I did a review on a particular big screen plasma TV. One sale and I get almost $100 from it. Of course that's harder to sell. So I've moved away from Amazon, in favor of other niche's which I don't often hear aff marketers talk much about.

I'm moving more toward lead generation and monthly membership services which are easier to convert and pay more per sale (because they get the recurring). But that's just me.

Hey guys, its all about Traffic Generation... (imo)..

everyone orders from Amazon, almost everyone!

amazon has a 24hr cookie, now even if they do not purchase immediately from your aff link which your driving traffic to and in the niche you are targetting... they usually come back and buy maybe a book/cd or any everyday things.

I get a high volume of sales which are unrelated to niches i promote due to people returning and buying other products or people who get sidetracked while on amazon and end up buying something else.

i have 1 site setup so far and have completed research on another 11 areas i can expliot.

i am a wordpress user and find this works best for me.

but, would anyone kindly advise me on this question:

i have a site with its own domain, but i am looking at setting up quite a few, would it be a bad idea to setup a wordpress.com account and have loads of wordpress hosted blog?

will my effort be in vain because it is a subdomain?

Would you recommend amazon affiliate over being an ebay affiliate?Im looking to set up a blog but dont want the headache of waiting to be accepted by ebay for ages, sending loads of emails with no response, then find out...etc. figured amazon has most products available that ebay does...?

When I first started ( a number of years ago) on Amazon, I did quite well, built a search tool to get very niche content from Amazon, but its really dropped off and now really doesn't produce much money, similar to what happened with AdSense revenue.

Hi guys

i sell amazon books through my niches and it comes from autoresponders and content websites. I have had a great response and conversion rates and have been fantastic.

In some niches there isnt always enough ebooks to go around and sometimes tangiable items are easier to sell to your market.

I've done well on Amazon simply by using their best-sellers link to find products, and building simple WP blogs with 1 original post and Adsense. I make sure to add other article/video content with an auto-content plug-in regularly. Once you get into a rhythm of it, it doesn't take much to put together at all, you just have to be sharp with your keywords.

I have been working with Amazon affiliates program since January and have thus far had a bumpy ride. One week I received around 18 orders... I've been having 2/3 order days which is great. but the rest of the time it's been plodding along at an order every other day. you just can't call it, and it's a very frustrating business to be in.

I'm trying to build this into a full-time income so have been setting up (good) sites regularly and now have 10. Promoting these for their keywords should results in a solid number of orders each day. at least, thats my theory.

in short, i recommend giving amazon a good go.

The great thing about Amazon is even though commissions are small they can add up very quickly as you often end up selling stuff you weren't promoting as people tend to add alot of stuff to their shopping cart.

I've been using amazon affiliate program for 8 months now.
Promoting self development ebooks, audios and videos.
The income I've been making from amazon is less than $2,500
but it is all passive income.

For me I am more into cpa networks. (clickbank, commission juction,
neverblue etc)

I started with Amazon in January and made $25 that month. In February I made about $55 and now in March I made around $230 so just keep scaling it up and you'll make more.

For those that say you need a lot of volume to make it work, wrong. I get 10 visitors per day to most of my sites so far and I make daily sales. Just pick the right keywords and you are golden.

I like Amazon because it's easy to rank for and it's hands off so once it's set up you can leave it and move on to the next one. I'm heading off to University next year so this is a really nice factor for me personally because I won't have a whole lot of time at Uni to work on these sites but I will still be able to get a paycheck every month.

Amazon Associates in one of the best affiliate programs for promoting physical products. I've been using them for over a month, and have NOT made any significant earnings till now.
