Hi everyone,

I know this sounds awkward, but that is the truth, I need guidance in this online marketing stuff. I need a mentor that can guide me aright, I'm like a lone ranger in this thing, and even though I'm putting enough effort, my mind quickly sways, thinking 'can I really make something off this?'. I just need someone to report my progress to, someone that'll tell me what to do and I'll do it, because to me now, it seems I'm lost. I'm paralyzed with analysis, not knowing what to do.

Please everyone that'll read this, know that this is straight from the heart. Please

Thanks, for future response

    You got the right idea!

Also stay away form all the shining "must have" products and search for a mentor who is already making money online.

Preferably not one who is making money selling "how to make money online" products

Thanks Manie, I also don't like people that claim they make money online but by selling 'how to make money online' stuffs. Sounds hypocrisy to me.

if you're building a list and having problems creating traffic,
set up a daily traffic plan to get results.

I open my notepad...umm.. almost first everyday and I
look over my daily goals to keep myself accountable.

Social media is a beast for traffic, sites like youtube, facebook,
twitter, pinterest and others can send you traffic, but it
doesn't usually happen over-night.. you gotta build momentum.

Depending on your niche, you could do a search in the
JV section to see if there's anyone else in your niche who
already has a list and would launch a product with you.

There's loads of different methods, but if you're looking
for a legit mentor.. you should be thinking about how much
you could afford to pay a mentor for their time.

    Hi

Do you have an idea of what you want to do?

Build a list and create your own products? Build and maintain adsense sites? Build and maintain Amazon sites?

There are lots of ways to build an online business and you don't have to pick something you "love". But if you prefer writing ebooks over building websites, or editing video over social marketing, then it will give you an idea where to start.

Have you done anything in the past that you can draw on successes or failures?

Anything you know you don't want to do?

Thanks Mahlon, my main aim is to build up lists, that has been my first objective right from the outset... only getting the traffic to my squeeze page is really getting difficult.

      thanks anyways

I would suggest finding a meetup group of some sort where you can hold yourself accountable for your results. As an entrepreneur, one of the hardest habits to get into (if you don't naturally have it) is that drive, passion, motivation to hold yourself accountable for your results. Without a boss and without direct pressure, it's easy to just wonder.

Also, blogging about your progress EACH DAY helps a lot!

thanks for the tip, yes that is what i really need, thing is, I stay alone, do all this thing alone, so it is really difficult for me to hold myself together in times when I'm down because of not seeing results. if i have friends that are in the same shoe as I am, then things will be a little easier. we'll discuss failures and successes... but i'm just a lone ranger and it's really draining me. I'm putting all energy into this thing, but Im not getting results as of yet.

I wrote a post the other day about how entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey. But yes, join a group, meetup, or mastermind. It helps!

I would start by looking into Kensters Six Figure Alliance. This helped me alot. Mentors can be expensive at first if your just starting and alot of products under deliver.

But i can honestly say look into his six figure alliance it helped me gather my bearings and lead me to crush it online. Do it!!!

Absolutely salmanijaz and that's one of the reasons it can really help to have a like-minded circle of friends or mastermind group that can help support you and where you can bounce ideas off of.

That's one of the chief reasons I created the "Alliance" concept a few years back...because having an Alliance is one of the best ways to conquer many of the obstacles that entrepreneurs have.

Check out Warrior Forum's meetup section and try to join a group if there's one by you!

Write down 3 things that you know a lot about and see if you can build a business from it.
Many people jump into niches they know nothing about just to make a quick buck and it rarely works out. If you can churn out say 3-5 articles a week on a subject you know about then you are on your way.

Just wanted to say I know where you're comming from! I've been overloaded with information since I started. I think I need a break to get some distance and think about the direction I want to go... guidance would definitely be great but there are so many "coaches" and programs out there, hard to tell which one would be best for me, plus I don't have money right now so I'll start on my own and with free sources.

    Just keep going, good luck!

just spoke my mind right there... I spent lots of money on programs, i just have to relax. Too many people claiming to help you. that is just why i need one person that will take me by the hand, instead of buying into multiple programs of different coaches, one person will do for me.

thanks anyways for all your contribution. I'm not quitting anyways, I'll figure out how it'll work out

How did it go with the programs you bought? Did you actually follow the steps all the way thru? If so, what were your hold backs? What worked for you? What would you like to improve on?

I know it's hard - I have totally been there - as have SO many other Warriors in this forum. One thing I think we will all agree on is that BUYING programs won't do anything to help your bottom line. It's what you DO with it.

So, based on that, what have you done... what have you tried... what do you think you need now?

To be totally honest, we're all "lone rangers" in all this. There are some amazing people in this forum that can guide you - maybe even mentor you - but at the end of the day, this is a one man/ one woman show.

I look forward to your response =)

        ~PotPieGirl

P.S. - I'd like to send you a virtual "high five" for asking for help. That's super hard to do. Problem is that no one knows what you've learned/tried/done in order to help you move forward. At the end of the day we're all very busy on our own online business activities so if you could give us some insight into exactly what you need, I'm sure some mighty fine Warrior will step up.

Regardless of all that, I wish you the best!

Thanks potpiegirl... I'm happy you took your time to comment on my thread.

well, I just have mental block on moving on. it's pretty hard when you are trying to focus and nobody to discuss your fears with.

most of the gurus don't respond to mails after you must have bought their products and sometimes you think you are swindled because of this.

I need to start generating traffic to my squeeze page, but

          1) I don't really have much money like I used to, so the issue of buying courses now scare me to death... I can only afford my internet connectivity and the little that has to do with hosting and domain registration.

          2) Even if I try to buy one 'very good' course, mistakes will inevitably happen, and like I said, most of these so-called 'gurus' haven't offered me much assistance in such regards. at the end of the day, I'll just be alone - checking threads on warrior forum for answers.

I hope I've been able to convey my fears in the little possible way I can.

          thanks

Great post Jennifer, I'm just glad to see that my current confusion is a normal thing and I'm not crazy!

It's hard to choose a direction when you don't know enough about it all together (all the different ways and methods). And at the same time, you're the one who first needs to decide what you want to do, then you might find someone who can guide you. Kind of a circle you need to break through learning…

I was actually thinking about posting a thread on the exact same topic. I have been lurking around this forum and soaking up information like a sponge for awhile now but I never took any real action towards building a IM business. I know the basics and I can figure out the rest but I am stuck at the beginning; I don't know how to get the ball rolling. If you would like to collaborate on something somehow let me know, I am open to ideas.

Thanks for your contribution... It's 'spot on'. if I can get a group, of course I'll be very happy. The problem is, I don't know how. I'm planning on going for a seminar for the sole purpose of meeting likeminds, if I can get this online, good. But as of now, I'm only thinking of the seminar I said.

Before then anyways, I'll try as much as I can to stick to my weekly/monthly goals. But I agree with yourself and Kenster, finding a group of likeminds will help a lot.

Hi there. I'll throw my opinion into the ring. I think internet marketing takes a long time to learn and to master. One thing you can do while you are learning is to offer services to other warriors.

If you can write, offer to write. If you can make videos offer to do that. Another opportunity is to become a virtual assistant. You get the idea.

This way, you can be earning some money to pay for a mentor or buy WSOs (although it sounds like you have already bought some).

The other benefit is that you will start to make some connections so as not to be a lone ranger.

Offering services to other busy marketers will give you a way to 'earn while you learn'. This will help to alleviate your fears about finances as you continue to work on your own marketing strategy.

One last thought for you. Put some time into creating a business plan. Then stick to it. Make yourself accountable to that plan. Put dates and goals in it. When I put my plans in writing it helps to give me focus and it helps to relieve my fears. I hope that helps!

Cindy is on the right track..talents can be developed over time but start with what you like and are good at...like writing, then write articles to support you favorite niches...as Cindy said, if you want to be the next YT maniac, then learn everything about vids...and so on. Don't try and do it all right now..It is too overwhelming...THEN, find a mastermind group with people that have the opposite skill set and help each other.

I feel for your plight. I understand you want to get on and you've obviously spent what little funds you have and not really got too far. So where do you go from here. May I suggest, as stated previously, that you join a group and get some social interaction.

For online help take a look at this forum. Go to the navigation bar above and click on “Community” and then “Social Groups” and have a search around. For face to face networking have a look at Meetup at meetup dot com. There could be something in your area that would assist you.

Whilst communities helped me out in my early days I have to say that I didn't get ahead in Affiliate Marketing until I paid somebody to teach me. Finding somebody was in itself difficult and requires some research. And then, as has already been stated you are going to have to pay real money to achieve real results. I paid $1000 several years ago which was money I couldn't afford at the time but the results were outstanding.

Oh, and I can vouch for the credentials of Warrior Kenster who has commented earlier in this thread. If he runs a suitable course and you think you can afford it then just do it

I hope this helps - just that little bit.

    Hello there,

I just wanna share my story with making money online or an online business. I'll try to make it short. and thank you for taking time to read this.

I will benefit with the advise you warriors contributed in this thread, thanks to all.

I'm kind of on the same boat as you (manuelocal). I started with online paid surveys and made a few bucks, but after a while I stopped taking them to created a website/blog to promote the survey sites. I'm just making a couple of bucks here and there, but not what I want.

I got more into the amazing World Wide Web and tried an online mall and also made a few dollars, but not enough. I sold on ebay and made a few bucks there too. (I think I'm going to go back to ebay and sell the PLR ebooks... I'll give it a try).

I wanted to learn more and started buying training video courses and what have you that teach 'how to make money online'.

After a few programs I stumbled upon one that really helped me understand more of how things work on internet marketing and it was worth what I paid for it. I bought a domain to promote this program that I think is good. because I procrastinate in doing what I know I need to be working on.

Procrastination is not the only hurdle, but I am easily sidetracked or am I just lazy? No I'm not, I'm dedicated to learning and earning:-)

I learned the program, but I'm not taking all of the necessary action to get the ball rolling. It's a tedious process as far as articles and keyword research goes and it's not so easy. I read getting traffic is the easiest part in IM, but not for me.

I must be doing something wrong. (it may be action)

I've learned that learning this industry was going to take an awful lot of time to learn! And I am liking it!

I didn't come this far to quit. I'm now creating web pages for the PLR products that I have while thinking about selling them on ebay and of course to my list that I built up on my Paid Survey Sites website.

Anyway, I made it this far by myself and quitting is out of the equation of this learning process!

I don't know how much we can type in here, so I'll stop now.

I would love to read more comments on this thread.

    Thanks again
