Doing a Review on Restaurants

Hi, are there rules and regulations when it comes to blogging about a restaurant ? Like do I need to contact the restaurant owner and get permission that I'll be reviewing their restaurant and that I'll be taking photos of their restaurant to post on a blog?

    You don't need their permission just to review it, or to take pictures of it from the outside. However, depending on your state, you may need permission to take photos inside their property. That is the only restriction, but you can likely find photos of their restaurant elsewhere, and very few restaurant owners would object.

    Not sure about the photo side of it but as a review in general you will not need to inform the owner that you are doing it but you must eat there. You can not write a review based off others opinions.

    Okay cool, cause I want to take photos of the outside of the restaurant and mainly my dish that's it. I see thousands of people on instagram posting photos of food. But I just want to make sure since I'll be putting this up on a website where I'll be ranking the SERPS.
