Don't buy a list. First off you do not know if that list is legit. It may contain expired emails, most likely it won't be targeted, and I doubt you will get any conversions from strangers who don't have a clue on who you are.

Build your own list and build customer relations.

I don't even know that one that will let you import a bought list at all, let alone email them anything other than an opt-in request.

The value of a "list" to a marketer is that the subscribers on it are people with whom the marketer has a relationship: they know the marketer as a respected provider of valued information. They trust him/her. Otherwise it has very little value anyway.

Nothing destroys the value of a list as much as selling it to someone else of whom all that isn't true.

You can perhaps email them using a self-hosted autoresponder, so that it's your internet connection, hosting, domain-registration and reputation that are all put in jeopardy, rather than those of an autoresponder company, but I'd probably think again, if I were you.

I also doubt that any decent autoresponder company will let you import them to their system. I know that for Aweber you will have to opt them in, i.e. they will have to reconfirm. I believe that Getresponse is a bit more lenient but they will only waive the confirmation if the list is healthy.

You have no idea what you are buying. I would stay away from it.

Hi Dita - I don't think either of those companies will allow a bought list to be imported at all.

Alexa is correct. We definitely do not allow that. We certainly aren't more lenient, we're just nicer

Never buy email lists. You can't buy permission. I would strongly suggest MCderex that you delete that list, consider it a lesson and move on to building your own organically. Whatever it cost, it's not worth the trouble it will cause you.
