Best Place to find outsourcing for illustration?

I want to get some professional images done (fantasy, sci-fi, comic book stuff) but have had very little success with using sites like eLance for a cheap price. I know I get what I pay for but I'd rather start from the bottom and work up.

Anyone know which sites have a high level of talented artists?

I suggest you check out: deviantART: where ART meets application!

Browse around and contact some artists there. It's a great community
of very talented artists, and I'm sure you will find someone to help you.

Agreed... great artwork there with multiple mediums (photographers, illustrations, painters, etc...)

You won't find cheaper than free.

I would use public domain illustrations. Millions of free images.

There are thousands of comics, magazines, books, etc that are in the public domain. Millions of images that you can modify and use for any purpose you like.

Nowadays it is no longer an issue to find the best Freelancer. There are many freelancing site, you can use which one you like most. It is not important that which site you are going to use, but it is too much important which freelancer you are going to use. here i would like to remind you should see the previous work history & feedback of the Freelancer. You should use the Upwork or, Fiverrr. Best of luck
