Highly Reputable Merchant Accounts?

Hey guys, like the title states... I'm looking for a highly reputable merchant account....

A *real* merchant account that will deposit funds instantly (or once a payment clears in 2 days or so) into my checking account.


Not looking for authorize.net, or 2checkout, or payza, or mooneybookers, or paypal, or liberty reserve or anything like that (I am aware of them all).


Can anyone here recommend any that are synonymous with reputability like Aweber is with email lists?


Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Well, it depends on what you're selling. Internet Marketers as a group have a bad rep with the major banks. Most do not want to deal with intangible products, especially those that sell for more than $1,000. The exposure is huge for them. As a result, warriors I've spoken to turn to high risk merchant providers, like the kind that also support adult vendors. They know you have a higher risk profile and even though the fees are higher, they are much less likely to close your account when you get the inevitable refunds and/or chargebacks.

      Well, I hear everything you're saying... But I'm looking for some specific names to be dropped


      Highrisk, normal... Doesn't matter to me.. I just need some names that won't screw me, go out of business, or run off with my money.....


      Anyone with ANY real world experience or knowledge please let me know!

    A REAL merchant account won't do that.


    Not looking for authorize.net,
    Most REAL merchant accounts would go through Authorize.net or one of the other few gateways online.

        I can help. I work with a real merchant provider and we follow a 24 hour deposit policy. Longest would be 2-3 days since it looks like you need a MOTO account. In any event please let me know, I'll be happy to help.

      Before you start looking, I think it is important you actually understand what you are looking for. Authorize.net is not a a merchant account, it is a payment gateway that attaches to your merchant account.

      Think of it this way, when you go to a retail store, and they swipe your card through the device on the counter, that is not a merchant account, it just attaches to the merchant account. A gateway is like the card swiper for your website.

      You also have third party payment processors that include merchant account functionality like PayPal, Google Checkout, 2checkout, etc. On my PayPal, account, it sends the money to my bank the next day.

      Almost all of the "merchant account" providers are really just acquirers that use the same banks. If it is high risk, you need to find someone that is comfortable with high risk. If it is adult stuff, then you need a processor that is comfortable with that.

      That being said, here are a couple merchant account providers. They each act differently, have different comfort levels and can usually provide a gateway at a little or no extra charge. With a merchant account, they normally require a contract so unlike PayPal, its not month to month. Also be careful of all the various add on fees like PCI compliance Fee, Batch Fees, etc.

      If you are looking outside of the US, there are others. If you are doing adult products you can look at CCBILL and if you are a bit high risk check out 2checkout.

    You should try Alertpay or Google Checkout. With Google Checkout tho, be aware of chargeback complaints - even though the customer DID in fact purchase your item.
