- Will large marketing conglomerates eventually displace independent marketers?
- Will Google continuous algorithm updates make it nearly impossible for independent marketers with small budgets to get traction?
- Will it get harder and harder to gain traction on Facebook and YouTube?
I think, because of the above possibilities, it will be harder for newbies to get started and gain traction. But, those marketers who are seasoned, savvy and continuously serve their list will survive for as long as they want to. The key is to BUILD A LIST and treat it like gold and always keep a personal touch, which differentiates you from anyone else.
If you do a survey of the mom and pop stores that are still around, you will find that most of them are very specialized in what they do or they have a very loyal customer base because on personal relationships, location or because they provide highly personalized services.
