Need quick advice about how-to videos

I am in the idea stage about making a product, but was struck with a thought that could de-rail the whole thing...

Can I screen-record (Camtasia) a how-to video that is based on other softwares (both web and client-side)? In other words, I want to record, and sell the recordings from a membership site, videos that teach someone how to XYZ. It's a whole package, and some of them include how to do such-n-such on domain1.com, and how to do such-n-such using this popular Windows software..

I know you all aren't lawyers (well, maybe some of you are), but have any of you looked into this at all? If so, what did you conclude?

I am pretty sure you can especially if it is inside a membership site.

We do this all the time.

The only time you will get into trouble is if you give away a paid product etc. If they have bought the product or it is open source etc no problems.

For example I do a set of tutorials on Paint.net which is free software.

I thought about selling it as a DVD, but then I'm sure I'd be asking for trouble. I'm going to stick with the membership site.

What if it's a SERVICE... for instance, I want to screen record how to start a GoDaddy account and register a domain name??

Thank you for your input, Quentin.
