That's good advice... everything I have done in IM (and everything I still do to this day) I will not outsource until I first learn it myself.

You can not expect others to build your business for you and you can not rely on strangers to deliver quality when you may not even know what quality is yet.

Do the work yourself, learn the business (whichever path you choose), then start delegating tasks when you want more free time or if you are looking to expand faster then you can keep up with by manually completing all of your tasks.

I totally agree with what your saying here. Learn something yourself and "at least" be able to apply it on a small scale, then you can ramp it up if need be and outsource it and hopefully find someone who is able to do the task much easier and quicker than you can (for cheap too)

I guess you've already reported this to the help desk? I take you haven't read the WSO rules before posting this nonsense.

You should have just gotten your likes and follows from fiverr.

Anyway, All 3 vendors were paid for their likes via paypal. NONE of the vendors fulfilled their promises and I am having problems recovering my money with all 3. Lies, lies, lies ... that is all I have received. So, my advice ... BEWARE. And, just write your articles and build your sites naturally. In the amount of time I have wasted trying to get the vendors to perform, and in trying to recover my funds, i could have written another 20 articles. Be smart, do the work, and results will follow. Try to cheat the system and the cheaters will cheat you ...
Don't deal with people that don't have an established history and other WF members vouching for their authenticity. It's that simple.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experiences.

That is terribly unfortunate. I'm not at all having a go here, just interested how much due diligence you did on these people, and how many testimonials you looked for? Or did you go for the cheapest?

I totally agree that this should never happen, but maybe there is a little something to learn from this? That which doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger.

I agree that you should know what you're doing before you outsource, or else someone can easily pull the wool over your eyes. So at least know enough to know whether the job is done correctly, even if you don't know the fine detail.

I find that a lot of those sorts of services can be a little hit and miss. There can be many factors affecting how valuable and useful they are, and you need to know what impacts they can have on the service that you want to pay for. It might be, as I suspect would be the case, that you might choose not to do it, knowing the full story.

You can't call them out publicly. But you can contact WF support and explain the issue. I think they will be more than happy to weed out some of these piss-heads.

If you bought them in the wso section, you are allowed to post your experience in their topic. You can say something simple like "likes were not delivered." If it gets into a hate filled tirade the post will get deleted, but the negative facts are ok.

Excellent advice. I for one started doing this from the very beginning, because I would rather 100 really interested followers instead of 1000 fake bots.

I would agree with any general sentiment saying that core, fundamental work should be done by yourself - managing hosting, building the site (on Wordpress say), basic photo manipulation, list creation etc. Those are integral skills that allow you to build simple businesses on demand at any time. What's more, you can even market some of those skills as a freelancer.

With that said, some tasks are so "niggly" that it can be best just to pay for them. I'd rather get a few hundred FB likes from a trusted, verified seller on Fiverr than try to work out how to develop such a FB network for myself.

Please don't let a few bad 'uns discourage you. I doubt there's a person who has been around for any length of time who hasn't been worked over by a scammer at some point. Usually it just makes us better at doing our due diligence to find the good providers.
