How many Youtube Videos should one create for each new campaign? So, if you use YT to drive traffic for a CPA or Affiliate offer do you make one Video or 10 or X amount per day?

[QUOTE=Greedy;7903992]Depends on the niche, but generally the more the merrier [/QUOT

Would it be more correct then to assume video creation can stop for each campaign when we've exhausted all relevant keywords? That's how I'll do it then, until it turns out to be a mistake.

Make one - the more people spam YouTube with worthless junk the worse it gets for everyone else who keep within their rules.

I'm with you on that that one, which is why we have a professional video editor on board doing high quality videos that actually attempts to be useful. I personally use YT all the time to look at product reviews, etc which forms part of my research process.

I believe not everyone that creates videos for YT in order to drive traffic is doing worthless junk and breaking YT rules.

Anyway, if everyone creates junk then it makes sense that anything better will probably convert better & I'm all for better conversion rates.

I've actually been going through a few WSO's and all the ones dealing with YT teaches that one should create a million videos and simply change the titles, description, etc to target additional related keywords. Some of them outright state that you should just do one video but upload that one multiple times. The fact that some of these WSO's have very decent sales is perhaps part of the reason why we are seeing so much of what you refer to. Some of these WSOs even say that one should actually create crappy slideshow videos because they convert better. I just looked at a YT video for an Affiliate offer which is currently selling very well. This video is ranked first on Google and the actual video is 6 seconds long with one single image containing a single CTA (call to action) sentence. You can see how this information can cause some confusion with those who have not done this yet but wants to drive traffic via YT.

How would you suggest driving free traffic to Affiliate, CPA, & Personal offers if Youtube is off the table, or are you simply suggesting that people try and increase video usefulness?

What would you say of creating one very decent & useful video & then syndicating that one video to multiple video sites, before moving on to the next campaign. Might this be a better approach? I sort off think it might be worth testing though.

Besides, I have always thought the millions of useless spun blog comments, forum posts, trashy backlinks, unreadable articles, etc submitted by automated bots is far worse.

Hi Andrew. Thanks. I grabbed a copy of your report. Interesting. It takes a slightly different approach to the SEO part when working with Youtube. Will do a test to compare results to other methods. Thanks.

    Hi John

CPA and affiliate linking is a difficult one as YT seems to be cracking down on those also.
It may be better to link to a squeeze page and promote the offer within the follow up email sequence.

A lot of those WSO's also referred to paying for comments, views and likes which is a definite quick way to get your video removed and account banned. I did try that once and felt uncomfortable with it so left pretty quickly. Sure the video moved up the rankings very quickly, but I always feel like looking over my shoulder (I think that's the correct term).

I've had videos on YT since it began and I've always kept within their rules, although at the time I was not aware of any rules. Those same vids have around 35-40,000 natural views and have brought in regular Adsense income week after week.

I put another 5 up the other night and they have already got near 100 views each since. I think you just need to provide quality videos giving some value to the viewer and let them age...slideshows can work if they also have moving content in them.

There are also sites such as Slideshare - similar to YouTube except mainly for PowerPoint style slideshows. You could try those also. I am unsure of their rules for CPA type things.

This is like asking how long a piece of string should be.

It depends. If you are trying to build an "authority" channel on YT, there's opinions that it is beneficial to have 50+ videos uploaded on a fairly regular schedule. I've even heard a number in the high 60s is the minimum number of videos YT wants for "authority" channels.

On the other hand, you may want to have other channels with just a couple of videos and use these channels to help promote your money/authority channel.

I usually make only 3 videos for each campaign a day. But I always make a quality videos that actually provide my viewer with an important information that maybe can solve their problem. If you make a good video, you viewer will want to see more, and he will see a link right in the description box. I drive some of my traffic this way, and the result is not bad.

I doubt that you'll ever find a true number for this question because as mentioned, every niche is different and each keyword may require more (or less) work than others. In the past, I have stopped (or really slowed down production) when (A) I have maxed out on the profitability of a niche, or (B) - something that happens more often than not - I've actually determined that the strategy wasn't really profitable at all.

So if there is more money to be made, and your perceived ROI keeps improving, I can't see any reason to stop producing videos. Even if you have hit a ceiling so-to-speak, there is reason to keep producing (albeit at a slower pace) just to maintain competitive advantage in your niche.

I would NEVER take Youtube off the table when video marketing. However, this is just such a tricky and dangerous situation with Youtube now, that I would completely remove all links and affiliate offers from your videos and channel. Instead, create an in-video CTA and a landing page (even a full website) and start collecting auto-responder subscribers so that you can email them your offers. This protects you from unfair actions against you, allows you to market on different video sites, and builds you a list of potential buyers which can be used for used years.

    Hi Marty,

Some great insight and advice there. Thanks. I do like the idea of our videos remaining online long term and continuously sending us some much needed traffic. This makes the tiny investment creating these videos so much more valuable.

Yes this is something a lot of video producers don't take into account when they upload a video. In that sense, branding plays a HUGE roll in long term effectiveness of your videos, so all the new stuff I do now is effectively branded so that if one of the videos does take off, it will have a perpetual effect on traffic to my website.

However, as with most video producers they have a lot of stuff uploaded from years ago, that is not well branded and not really helping traffic back to a landing page or website. What you can do with existing videos is go back in and start adding annotations, so that at least those who respond to them know where the video came from and where you can get more of the same.
