At first glance, beef up your intro. People skim online, we don't really *read* everything. With that said, for the intro, bold everything you want your readers (skimmers) to read. Putting it in the form of a list is really easy on the eyes.

Secondly, you could probably break up all that content on multiple lenses, you have quite a lot there for one lens. I've read to have 3 or so paragraphs PER LENS, all in separate text modules, all separated by graphics (pic or vid modules). It makes the page look WAY more interesting and people can digest (and even READ) all the info more quickly.

Here are a few that I've built:

Increase My Metabolism with Full Body Workouts! (I could probably add more to my intro on this one now that i revisit it.)

How To Boost Metabolism Naturally?! (There IS such a way!) (This is a good example of how to break up an article to make it more visually appealing.)

Tribal Tattoos For Men (One of my better intros using a list and bold keywords. And even tho my article is in 1 block, it's kind of broken up by a bold list of benefits for my viewers.)

Hope I've given you some good ideas and examples to help you fix your page. (Too bad I didn't find this thread earlier.)

    Take care.

First, turn off the 'Maxed!' setting under 'Lens Settings'.

Add some pictures, videos, RSS feed, amazon books, guest book, a poll, etc. The more junk you add the higher you rank..

Here is my latest one, take a look and see if you get any ideas.

    Free PsP Downloads

Edit: I'm still working on it, should be top 100 when I'm done.

You need to add graphics and a bit of break-up in your content. It's way to monochromatic. Also, the spelling could be a little tighter. I'm just speaking from a web writer's point of view. I give you props for learning how to man the Squidoo lenses, I couldn't create an attractive lens if my life depended on it.

    Hi

First off, nice work. I commend you on taking the time to actually review the book instead of just throwing up a website with a bunch of rehashed content. It's inspirational for me to see people like you who actually "Get it."

I agree with the previous comments about more graphics and subheads.

    I wish you much success.

    Enjoy your day!

Good work! I think you should break up your content into multiple modules... give each module a "keyword-researched" headline, and find somewhere in the content to use the keyword as anchor text to your aff link.

    Do that for each module (with diff keywords)... that's how you can rank high for each module, and rank for multiple keywords on one lens;

Yup, the more modules you throw in, the more Squidoo likes the thing. Also, one huge factor is how many star ratings you get. However, note--a high Squidoo rating means nothing as far as Google is concerned. You can have the #1 lens in your category and not show anywhere on "G".

One thing: When I did a Google search for Yeast Infection Treatments the majority of the pages returned on page one had a PageRank of 3-5--and while PageRank doesn't translate into listings on Google, it does indicate that your competitors have some degree of "expertness". Many of the front page listings have hundreds of inbound links from good sites... and many of the competing pages are .edu domains and others that are likely favored by Google.

I don't see any Squidoo lenses or Blogger blogs in the first ten pages of listings which means that you may have a chore getting in.

Your lens looks cool, and I wish you the very best--but I think you might have a tough time breaking into Google's front page for highly searched phrases related to yeast infections.

When I set up a new Squidoo lens, I do a Google search for my key search term and see what comes up. Google will only show 2 Squidoo lenses for any search term. If I find any Squidoo lenses on the first three pages, I check out the lenses and see how good they look, how many inbound links they have, and stuff like that.

Doing this I can pretty much tell how much work it would take to beat out the current Squidoo lenses in the rankings.

    Good luck bud!

It is not easy to reach top 100, i am not discouraging you but to be honest squidoo has millions of lenses and tons of elite lensmasters; so it is a little difficult to stand a chance on top 100 but however, if you want to increase your ranking then get more content and organize your lens well. I will try to post a more detailed tutorial soon! thanks

I will like your tutorial. I will like my lens to be top 100 one day but I really do not care much about it. I want the lens to be on the front page of it keywords in the next two weeks.

The lens is not even indexed. Anyone got an idea of how I can make it indexed?

Submit the lens to social bookmarking sites, and submit RSS feeds to feed submission sites. I outlined them in the ebook that I sent to you. Give it a week or so and you'll be good.

Hey Yommys01 you didn't specify any "Tags" in your lens... I did a "view source" on your lens and the "keywords" section was EMPTY... this is HUGE if you want your lens to get ranked... without any keywords for your lens you're wasting your time.

Edit your lens again, and make sure you enter the "Tags", which are your keywords.

Take another look at the Squidoo guide again so that you won't miss anything else.

Yeah I have not worked on the keyword tags. Power supply has been reduced to just 2 hours per day which has forced me to rush over things and forget the important things.

I will edit the tags using your guide. Any more tips?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[723991].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Droopy Dawg
No I think that's about it... make sure you enter ALL of the tags that you're trying to rank for, and promote the site to Social bookmarking sites (that accept Squidoo) and RSS feed sites.

    Good job

I have added the tags. Now How can I get the lens indexed by google. I intend subscribing to TheRichJerksNet's WSO, will that do it?

Add more graphics, use tags, submit to search engines and social book marking sites, participate in forums and comment on blogs. You can as well try PPC.

Nice lens - Iv'e given it a 5 start which should help out a bit. Pinging your lenses will get them noticed by Google but it can take a few days (or weeks) to get them included. I would also make the following points:

    1. Don't expect a lot of traffic via Squidoo even if you get into the top 100.

    2. Its a very good idea to comment and rate other lenses as most of the lensmasters will come back and review yours. You get rating this way.

    3. Backlinks and ultimately external traffic to your lense has a great impact on the Lensrank. Writ a few articles on Ezine articles and link them to the lens as a start. Even better, sign up to Angela's or Paul's WSO and use their links to get the PR of your page up.

    4. For traffic, I have had success with Stumbleupon. You can build a friends list and ask them to give your lens a thumbs up OR use the SU sponsored site feature and buy SU traffic to the site. This gives it a temporary traffic boost but the lensrank stays around for a while.

    5. Take your guestbook off approval and let comments be auto approved. These comments are no-follow and I have not experienced much spam.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for everyone who rated my lens. I got 2 five star rating from warriors. The unfortunate thing is that the lens has not been indexed.

Couple suggestions. To get it indexed, but it in your Warrior's Signature.

Secondly, what keywords are you targeting.... Yeast Infection Treatment seems like one possibility. Do you know how to do keyword research to find good keywords?

Yeast Infection No More will only be lucrative if this is a well-known product that people are searching for reviews of.

If you want to target both, that's fine, but I would add the phrase 'Yeast Infection Treatment' (or whatever keyword you choose) to some of your module titles. For example:

Instead of "Who should You Get A Copy of Yeast Infection No More? " which actually doesn't make sense, change the module title to: "Is Yeast Infection No More the Right Yeast Infection Treatment for You?"
