My First Website, My First Encounter With Content.

Hey guys,

I have basically thrown myself into the deep end having no knowldege about IM and decided to actually take action or i will not get anywhere.

I'm at the stage now where i have literally a day ago set up my website preventbiketheft.com, I have done a bit of research into the niche and now need content, bike theft prevention tips, articles, and product reviews, I have a page of rough content so far.

I wondered if anybody would be ever so kind to advise, help, put me in the direction of a website/guide/ preferably a free or cheap service as ive just started to help me collate this content for my website.

I've never done this before and am at the stage where i need to learn or outsource content creation, as im worried i will not be able to produce quality copy that sells and converts clicks on ads afilliate links and purchases products if you get my drift,

Sorry if this seems like a rant, but i wanted to talk to the WF about this so i can get moving and make this site work before i start my on page seo and word my arse off with offline seo.

Thanks to anyone who read this and adds to the thread.

Taking some action is better than taking none so well done on that score. I do hope you intend to get a nice header designed for your blog.

For content you could search to see if there are any PLR articles you could either rewrite yourself of have someone on fiverr or oDesk rewrite them for you.

You could try an article writing service in the Warriors for hire section. I have had some great articles written and will let you have details of you want to PM me.

You could outsource the writing to someone on oDesk.com or try a service like iWriter.com
Depend on what you want tp spend.

    Good luck

    Sandy

You really need to make some kind of SEO plan, research your keywords, plan your website structure and then get content

    1. Plan SEO, research your niche
    2. Set up your website correctly / create product
    3. Get content on website / set up product on site properly
    4. Get traffic
    5. Measure conversions & make changes

You can use this site with UK writers for content: https://uk.copify.com/?trial=intro300 (free trial link here to get your first 300 words free)

As m30jake says you need a SEO plan but once you have that in place, searching the internet and reading other peoples articles is a good place to start.

Don't copy obviously but get ideas.

Remember keep writing posts and make them as good as you can without spending an age on them

      All the best

If you need a content, you should be focus on getting yourself a writer. I don't know how you will monetize that site, but only one thing that is really important after you have an SEO plan : hire a writer. Of course it is better if you write it yourself, but it will require a lot of time and eventually you will be left behind and lose the competition (even if it is low competitor).

Looks like you went with the exact match domain route. There isn't a lot of search traffic a month for that term. Just 260 according to Google Adwords keyword tool.

Hopefully you don't plan on monetizing via adsense. There is low competition for that keyword in Adwords. And if you wanted to create posts about the best bike locks, that term has high competition, yet such a low cpc ($0.65).

Here is my input. Write your own content. I wouldn't say that this niche has the heaviest of traffic unless you expand out to posting about bike locks, bike alarm clocks, bike theft insurance, etc. It seems like you will need a good amount of posts before the traffic will flow in consistently.

You should write most of the content yourself unless you know your writer can write the type of articles you need. It takes awhile to find a good content writer.

If from the get go you're not able to write anything about your subject of choice then this is probably a doomed project. I'm easily able to write content for all my sites (articles take me around 20 minutes to write usually) because I'm passionate and knowledgeable about the topics I get involved with. If you're not you're going to struggle. Of course you can outsource but you'll most likely end up with generic and / or rehashed content that isn't much different to what's already out there and no one's really interested in that.

Have you done any keyword research before starting this? If you have, google the keywords and find other niche sites that are ranking and read their content. This would give you some ideas of their content and how to structure it.

You don't show where you are located?? Here is a crazy idea: Get in touch with a Dutch person who speaks English. WHY? The Netherlands (or Holland) is the land of the bikes. Bike in Dutch is FIETS or RIJWIEL. In my opinion you would have a MUCH BIGGER market for any products you would be selling. Just a thought! Good Luck! (Btw there are Dutch and Belgian people who belong to WF, and I have read some of their writings.
