theme me up scotty!

Hey warriors,

Just looking for a bit of help, my good friend has asked me to build him a simple site for his carpentry business. I ideally wanna go wiv wordpress, but not too fussed, but the kind of site he wants is a very simple one with just 3/4 pages.

And a gallery of previous work
Another friend has this site www dot marshcarpentry dot co dot uk, and this is the sort of thing he want.

Can anyone please recomend a decent free or cheap theme i could use for this?

Any help would be massively appreciated.

    Just use the basic theme that comes with the WP install, they are real clean and can be customized easily. Many free themes tend to come with backlinks in the footer or malicious codes.

    If you want to go with free, check out the free themes at woothemes.com. They have commercial and some free themes and are safer than just grabbing any free theme off the Net.

    Is this thread just a clever ploy to attract warriors with the name Scott? It works haha! I use ThemeForest for all my WP themes, the one I use on my site at the moment is called Coallition and I am impressed with it, very slick and the gallery for my headshot photography work is simple enough. You will be looking at $35-45 though for a decent theme on there.

    I think with WP themes you do get what you pay for - there are exceptions to the rule (as always) but a lot of the free themes are limited, buggy and as soon as you start to customise them you end up having to rebuild it from the ground up anyway.

    Atahualpa, I always recommend it for free and easy to customize theme, no need to write codes or messing around with CSS cause they have a bunch of options you can use to tweak the looks of your site.
