Anyone else having trouble downloading the list from Google Key Word Tool?

I have tried to download list of key words from GKT over the last couple of days, and I get gibberish, and a steady stream of files opening up in Excel. I can't stop it as there is an error window that needs to be taken care of, and as soon as I click it, a new file appears and a new error window.

I have to go to the task manager and shut down Excel to get it to stop, but am left without any list of key words.

Is this just me, or is anyone elxe experiencing it/ I have tried to download in CSV which is my normal option, and Excel too. I get the same results.

Just logged in and downloaded a CSV file and it was fine, BTW I am using open office to view the file.

I have tried every format they have. Nothing works, and now my Excel goes nuts every time I try to open a file with it. so maybe it is Excel that has the bug in it.

I got to get a new computer, but i hate Windows 8. I had one and sent it back.

I agree with windows 8. I sure wish Microsoft would have went a different direction, and kept desktop and mobile platforms separate.

Did you try using Open Office or Libre Office to open the file rather than Excel?

I will have to try that. I do have Libra, but never use it. I guess my Excel is mucked up. Too bad as I really love that program and use it a lot.

I just made a quick check and my GAK is working perfectly. Maybe an engine search might show up if it's a current problem and how to fix it.

I have just tried it and it works fine for me. Sound like it must be something related to your computer. Hope you can clear it up soon. Good luck!

I share your sentiments with Windows 8. I totally agree they should have kept desktop and mobile separate. Sometimes I don't think that Microsoft has a clue when it comes to desktop users.

  • can you show the file? I think sometimes due to browser compatibility this kind of issue happened. You can update your browser and try to download the same keywords list using different browser like mozila, opera etc. if same issue your are getting there. than may be theirs some virus issue. try to check with any technical persons.
