Ya wirecutter is really nice. Just recently heard about him. He definitely has a disclaimer somewhere on his website.

That's a cool Wiki entry. If people looking to knock up Amazon affiliate sites can't take inspiration from those examples then they may as well not bother.

ThisIsWhyImBroke is a prime example of a brilliant site that relies 100% on affiliate sales. Don't think you can just go out and copy it though, tons of people have tried and failed. There's a dozen copy cats out there still trying to compete.

Search affiliates that utilize pay per click search engines to promote the advertisers' offers (i.e., search arbitrage)
Comparison shopping websites and directories
Loyalty websites, typically characterized by providing a reward system for purchases via points back, cash back
CRM sites that offer charitable donations
Coupon and rebate websites that focus on sales promotions
Content and niche market websites, including product review sites
Personal websites

I agree, this was a fantastic list!

Most of these gadget related sites are nothing special, but what's unique about them is that the owners have worked social media to get huge numbers of likes and shares, thus propelling them to #1 for some very tasty keywords.

The Wirecutter is good, but they're also breaking Amazon Affiliate TOS by listing prices not from the API. All of the prices are just flat out wrong.

It's not that difficult to manage all the networks / stores you're affiliated with. All you're doing is finding products, adding to site, then check your stats every now again.

As long as you take note of all the networks you have on the site it's easy.

I would think that google would consider thisiswhyimbroke a thin affiliate site.
It is after all just a grid filled with images, brief descriptions, and affiliate links.
No in depth content that I can see.
