Have your web host setup an SPF record for the domain. It goes a long way towards stopping this low level spoofing.

I had one today as well. A bit disturbing. I don't understand how it's done - it's not hacked as you often see with hotmail accounts.

I've had spam and/or phishing emails purporting to be from my friends and
family. That's even weirder. I'm guessing they must have lifted the
information off of FB

I got a few of those today. In my case, the bounces were the result of the spammer setting one of my role addresses as the Return-Path. It did not otherwise point to any of my domains. Not much chance of anyone getting blocked anywhere with competent admins under those circumstances.

The spam itself was for a dating site in Turkey.

I have also received two in as many days. Both were purportedly sent from my gmail email address to the same email address! One of these emails actually appears in my sent folder. Is this a case of the password being cracked or what? Surely, this world is full of weird characters.

Yea I see it happen every once in a while. If emails are coming from your friend that they never sent and are just spam, their computer might be infected with some malware.
