Marketing Fiverr gigs

37 replies
I have a new gig in Fiverr which I am happy to say provides value but for the first time since I offered gigs on the site, is in my capability to fulfil within a time period that actually makes the whole thing worthwhile. However, I have got no buyers.. Any ideas from Fiverr providers about the best methods for driving traffic to Fiverr gigs?

    I would think social media would be a great way to go....even a paid for facebook ad targeted to the niche you fulfill

    I would say banner ads. Banner advertisement is effective and lately I've seen many Fiverr gig banner ads on sites and blogs...

      Right, Best way, that I do sell-
      a) Youtube video
      b) Twitter marketing with various offers on my gig
      c) Facebook friends and word of mouth
      d) Participating on various IM forums and making friends
      e) Email marketing

      By the way, my fiverr gigs are tester gigs and then getting most of the clients to main white hat services.

      Kind regards,
      Swrajit

    Don't know if any of these are against the TOS but....
    • Create another account and buy your gig a few times, make it look active, add some testimonials on it
    • Make sure you have the proper keywords on it for the search
    • Be active on the Fiverr forum and post your gig on it now and again
    • Have an eye catching image that stands out and attracts people to click on your gig
    • Work on your copy and grab the readers attention, don't sell them the service but sell them the benefits they get from using it
    • Once you've got orders, offer them different offers such as buy 2 get 1 free; ask them to leave a review; promote your other gigs try and get them to come back and buy more. Remember 80% of business is from returning clients
    • Ask them where they heard about you from, was it in the search? A friend? The Fiverr Forum? Work out where you can best concentrate your marketing efforts

    Good luck!

    The best way is to optimize your gig's title, description and keywords for the keywords you are going after that gets searched for on Fiverr and get your gig to the front page.

    Also, once you have figured out what words you need to use to get to the front page, then if you can create more related gigs, do so, and dominate as much of the front page as you can, and use a little symbol - like an icon - or something at the bottom corner of the thumbnails to identify your gigs as coming from YOU.

    Then you'll get some business on autopilot. That was my strategy for over a year and I dominated the front page, but now I no longer think Fiverr is good for business. Much better to have your own site where you have total control.

    I would not create only one gig.. I would create at least 10-20 that are somewhat related one to another. I believe that's when you'll first see some sales coming in.

    How to promote your gig? The same way you will promote anything...

    * Connect with your potential buyers on forums & specialty blogs
    * Questions & answers
    * Press Releases
    * Guest Posts
    * Solo Ads
    * PPC
    * Social Media

    Hi David:

    What can you tell me on that gig?
    It is related to selling kindle e-books on amazon?

    There are many people right now looking for promos or reviews.
    Fact is, we see a cottage industry of promoting the kindle e-books on amazon.

    Fiverr is great, but what is even better is to up sell it. Not many people talk about it, but I sell Fiverr gigs for about $30-$60 to small businesses. Not a bad return. I will not spill the beans too much, but use gigs related to seo, content, and graphics to small businesses and you can make an easy $200 cold calling small businesses. I cold called about 200 small businesses a day and made about $200 a day.

    Just think outside the box

      Yeah, I am surprised not many people talk about this. I up sell quite a few different gigs - it is a great way to earn some extra cash. You can also use the same methods that you use to market your fiverr gigs to market your gigs up selling fiverr gigs. Just a thought.

    1. Optimize tags
    2. Submit your video to youtube with link to your specific gig in the description and then submit that video to other video sites
    3. hashtag searches for people that might be in need of your service
    4. Buy fiverr gigs with Social media shares
    5. InfoLinks.com back to your gig
    6. Article marketing
    7. Fiverr Forum and Linked Group help
    8. Join all of fiverr's social network pages and engage with their followers
    9. PPC
    10. Mimic what other successful sellers are doing in your category/subcategory...

    Hope that was helpful.

    Regards

    I can tell you what works on me...

    I will buy and leave feedback on a gig, then someone else that is selling someone similar to what I just bought SCRAPES all the buyers that left feedback and then throws them a pitch for their gig.

    This works because I buy from people all the time that DM me through Fiverr with their gig

      Here's the 'ultimate' Fiverr promotion tactics...these just flatout work gangbusters:

      1) Contact people who post 'Gig Requests' on the right-hand side of Fiverr's page as much as you can. I've seen over a 20% conversion rate just sending out messages to these folks.

      2) Post your gig in the Fiverr forum, and offer to 'collect' other people's gigs in exchange for them collecting yours. You can also offer a 2 for 1 special in the Fiverr forum.

      3) Run a Google content network campaign for your Gig, with a low budget. Google will find the best sites for you based on your keywords, and then you can run placement reports to filter out the irrelevant ones. If you have a hard time getting approved, use a cheaper banner ad network.

      4) Purchase a classified ad here in the WarriorForum pointing to your Gig.

      5) Use either proxy accounts or ask friend and family to kickstart your first few sales.

    @HanifQ - that totally sounds ultimate. Thanks for posting.

    I'd bet its a bit more work than MOST people want to invest time in, however, that's why the successful ones will always stay successful. They're always willing to do just a bit more than the rest to stay ahead of the curve.

      1. Make more than one gig, even if it's similar to one you already have. Buyers who view at least one of these gigs may also see your other services you have to offer.

      2. Posting on relevant forums - The Warrior Forum for Internet marketers, Digital Point and the RetailMeNot forums. By creating high-quality posts, you'll build a reputation and maybe even clientele. And there's an added bonus if you have an AdSense publisher ID: The RetailMeNot forums have revenue sharing.

      3. Create your own YouTube Channel - it's time to get addicted to the limelight. Get in front of a camera and show people what you do. Camera shy? Create a slideshow and record a voice over..

      4. Press release - just like bloggers are on the lookout for fresh content, so is the media. If you think you've got a winning gig, write a short press release and send it out to the free press release sites. Don't forget to contact your local media sources as well. There are plenty of people who still don't know about Fiverr and this is a great way to get the word out.

      5. Add a video to your gig - a gig without a video is a very effective way to blend in with 90% of the gigs on Fiverr. That's a winning strategy for a rodent at the bottom of the food chain but YOU want to stand out! Videos entice clicks, plus you'll be able to explain in much more detail what your gig is all about.

        Great tips. Another thing that helps me A LOT is to offer BONUS PACKAGES. If they buy 8, they get 1 gig free. This pulls in a lot of REPEAT business.

    The best way is social media.
    you can share your gig in twitter,linkedin,facebook,gplus.
    For only share you can get buyer response.
    Be patient

    Blogging: Creating a blog and linking it to your Fiverr can be a great way to drive new customers to your gig. It will give you credibility with your potential customers and allow you to keep in constant contact. If you post regularly with relevant content you will keep your audience engaged equating to more sales.

    Guest Posting On Blogs: Another way to get your Fiverr services out there is to search for target customers on niche websites that have a blog and post articles that relate to what you are selling on Fiverr. Make sure you are linking your gig in return for the guest post.

    Buying Fiverr Traffic Partners: Many people don’t think about this approach when it comes to promoting their gigs. There are a lot of popular Fiverr profiles that are willing to send some of their traffic your way for a fee. This is what I like to call back door marketing. You have to approach gigs that are related, but not ones you would be stealing their business from.

    For example, if you are offering website design, you might want to reach out to website programming services.

    If you can set this system up with a few big players on Fiverr the investment will be well worth it.

    Market them the same way you would market anything else. The *way* in which you market it may slightly change, but the tactics are still the same. But if you're going to go through all the hassle of driving tons of traffic to a fiverr gig..... you might as well start your own site and charge much more for the same service.
