Can you add some sort of Alt tag or SEO into an embeded video?

Hi,

For instance, I have this code on the page:

HTML Code:
<object width="425" height="344">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-Lg1Ju03oQY&hl=en&fs=1">
</param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
<embed src=http://www.youtube.com/v/-Lg1Ju03oQY&hl=en&fs=1
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"
width="425" height="344">
</embed>
</object>
Is there something I can add for on-page SEO purposes?

Thanks,
Allen Graves

    Best bet for accessibility would be either a link to a transcript, or the full transcript hidden/shown on a button click using a bit of jQuery javascript.

      Every day I check the obituaries. If I don't see my name there, then I know it's going to be a good day!

        LOL, sorry I'll take my techie hat off for a moment

        Something simple you could do is just under the video add a link, like this
        Code:
        <p><a href="keyword-video-transcript.html">Click here for a full transcript of this exciting keyword video</a></p>
        And then obviously you'd put the text equivalent of your video in keyword-video-transcript.html.

        Slightly more complex, is to use javascript to 'hide' the content on the page, unless the user asks for it, in which case it will appear.

        I can't say for sure without testing, but I think having a second page full of content could be valuable for SEO. But of course it may harm conversions.
