Best Amazon niches are:
baby, home appliances, automotive, cameras and camera accessories, kindle books, computer hardware

Best niches outside of Amazon, besides the ones you listed, are dating/get your ex back, penis enlargement, health/any health issue and solution

Really though, there are countless other niches you can make money in,I would suggest something you are really interested in above all or you won't want to spend time doing research or writing about it.

I know someone that is making money in the chicken coup niche, for one example.

There is no "best" niche. That's why there are thousands of highly successful businesses in many different markets and industries. You guys are thinking way too linear about this stuff.

You could have a GD site that is all about weapon systems of USAF aircraft and that might be a very damn good niche. It's all about aligning yourself with your kind of people.

You could try going into a niche within the top three markets of health, wealth, and relationships. But you might suck at all three. It doesn't mean you can't make money online, but it does mean that you need a different strategy and niche market. You know what I'm saying?

Well I'm glad someone finally said this. There is no "best niche" or "what's the best business to get into". The "best" business/niche is one that you know very well and know what you can do with it. What my be a great niche for me might be a terrible one for you. If you go through all this looking for the "next best thing" then you'll be disappointed. Look for YOUR niche and what you believe can make good money.

I love the niche I'm in and I know the potential. I also plan on creating my own niche because I believe that you should be adding true value rather than repurposing stuff that's out there.

I'd say the ones that have been more long term and still good today are dating/sex, losing weight/building muscle/health food, making money online, and more recently I think saving money is going to be a biggy as we go on - look at moneysavingexpert.com

I'd say:

Tablets and Mobile Devices Niche
Green Energy Niche
Online Education Niche
List Building Niche
Personal Health Niche
Women Weight loss Niche
Power Sleep Niche
Investment and Retirement Niche

....and, I'd also choose niches that I like! I've worked around niches I didn't like at all in the past and although they were making me some good money, I ended up dropping them simply because I couldn't feel bothered, was lacking inspiration and had no intention of developing them!

That depends on you. The best niche is something that you are interested in or passionate about. Have and idea that you love, then do your market research to see if there are plenty of potential customers looking for your niche. If there are, then go into that niche. It's much easier to write about and promote something you are passionate about. That's just my 2 cents.

I've been killing it in the weight loss and fitness niche. Within every high competitive market, there are low competitive keywords.

Product names reviews is where the money is.

I'd pick a niche where you could write a thousand articles around a certain topic, but you could still sell them lots of products.

Take NLP as an example:

You could write posts about how someone could use NLP to change their life.

You could sell products about how to learn NLP and more advanced ways to use it.

product names reviews is profitable...IF you know how to out rank your competitors and you are a pro at SEO (and not just on-page SEO). If you are not, you are going to get crushed, because every one and their mother is going after products names reviews...

On a more serious note, you have great answers already. There is no best niche, and what is best for me might have nothing to do with best for you. The areas I like working in, and the people I like working with might be like pulling bamboo shards out from under your fingernails for you.

Any niche, if you can provide the solution of a problem. You will get the attention of mass people. Monetization will become easy after that. People says, "make money" market is saturated but I think it is getting board everyday. Because there are new question about money making raising everyday. Sites which are providing the answers of those questions, are still getting traffic. And traffic is money.

its not about whats the hottest niche.

Its about will the market be able to provide the metrics for your long term goals.

That doesn't mean go out searching for "MONEY".

It means do your research.

-Does the market have needy prospects or extreme hobbyists?
-Are you able to sell multiple products
-etc,etc...

Stop chasing money.

Money is a form of currency only exchanged when pure value is given. Value is different per person/market/niche.

Figure out what your niche values. Figure out what they need and want. Figure out what problems they're facing.

And do your best damn job at providing that that gets them quicker, easier, larger results.

I think RJames covered most of the best niches other than I hear the survival niche and video game niches have been growing.

A good way to see what is trending in sales is to check out what has been selling on Amazon.

Other than that it is important to have something that you are passionate in because you can choose a slightly less profitable niche and do better than a really profitable niche that you don't have any interest in.

Because our economy is down the drain, I recommend working on helping people get loans such as payday loans, or I mainly work with private lenders who give me a $1000 commission for each deal I help them make. Getting people loans with bad credit is a huge demanding market.

The problem with going after the biggest niches is that you're going to run into the biggest competition. Going after the credit card niche is going to put you up against some of the best marketers/SEOs/etc out there, which you need to be prepared for.

I would say that if you are planning on going into one of the finance niches, you should really know what you're doing, because the people who already play in that pool have years of experience (and often a huge team) backing them up.

I can say with real world experience the past 3-4 years that our best niches are: sex (low refunds to as people are to shy to return a product), relationships (huge seller here, just huge - no one wants to be alone), and dieting (sure it's a given but it's worth repeating - people want to get fit). Health is another good one but not as strong and we've never had much luck with credit repair so take that for what it is worth.

Probably not what you'd like to hear but to me it's not so much about the niche but what your interests are.. If you can imagine running a business where you dont relate with your customers all good for you, but if not I recommend you go with a niche that you are passionate with.. it will make your monday mornings so much easier : )

This said any niche where people spend money (a lot of very good examples in the comments above) is good enough imho. What really matters is how good your marketing strategies are, great marketing skills can be applied to any niche.

For each person it is a different niche.

For example, I have no idea how to make money with the niche: “How to make money online"

But then I also not want to know it, because I not care. Meanwhile I make serious money in other niches.

I used to have an ebook in the raunchiest niche on earth, and made a killing from it. No squeeze page or anything. And even had a backend product that was just as good. Killing it.

I stopped promoting both though cause the information i was selling didnt sit well on my heart. Sometimes the best niche doesn't always make you feel the happiest about it.

Anyway, there are so many different niches online. I guess your question should be.....

"What's the best way to setup a backend marketing funnel and get more repeat sales?" In business, this is all that matters.

I have to agree with the previous replies that the travel industry is one of the most financially best to gain commission on and it can be very rewarding financially too. there are loads of travel companies offering affiliate programs for this

If you're trying to stay away from MMO and Dieting, try sex or anything that relates to it, like dating and relationships. Sex sells no matter how you spin it, it's evergreen and not going anywhere!

Any niche, where people are eager to spend money either for their passions for that niche or for the solutions to the problems raised due to those passions in that niche, is a profitable niche.

As far as making money online in a particular niche is concerned, it depends upon which business model you chose according to your skills and resources and how committed you are with your venture.

Because, more than majority of people cannot make money in the MMO niche itself.
