[UK Warriors] Barclays Pingit Service

Barclays arranged to come into one of the businesses which I work with to show them their pingit service. Essentially to break it down for you, it is a service which allows payment over a smartphone app (No card needed) providing both have a pingit account. It can be hooked up to any bank in the UK so it doesn't only work with Barclays customers. The most important thing about this service was, it doesn't take a percentage of the transaction and the business owner will receive the full amount. Not only that, if you get a QR scanner, you can scan the bar code on another phone, click pay and you would pay the amount set. They also allow for restrictions to be put on an account so staff can not run off with your money and can only accept payments. The only limitation which was told to us was it is capped at £300 for now but that may change in the future.

I just thought I would share this because it was a pretty cool service and may help people who have offline clients. The business owner is very happy because she can now take instant payments in her pubs without losing any money.
