How Do You Organize your Day?

Hi Warriors - I would love to hear what systems you have in place to plan your working day - Do you use a planner or can you recommend a planner template that can help me organize my time more effectively?

Any contribution will be greatly appreciated

My high-tech solution is a notepad I keep next to my desk.

I write out my "to-do's" the night before.

I keep it realistic and make sure I hit everything on the list the following day.

I don't have any specific planner recommendations, but a great place to start is to write out big goals, cut them into small manageable pieces, and measure out time for each piece during the day/week.

    Hope that helps

Before I'm done with my day, I write down everything I still need to accomplish...put it on a sticky note....put the sticky note on my monitor...and when I resume again the next day...the sticky note lists everything I need to do.

It depends on each and every individual, of course, I do not really believe in templates and in general facts in this kind of situations.
Just right down your ideas and intentions and then try to organize them according to your own schedule and goals.

    Nirvana HQ.

I love it. It's based on GTD.

My six projects / folders are:
    1. Yourself.
    2. Your learning.
    3. Your relationships.
    4. Your network.
    5. Your sales.
    6. Your operations.
    7. Your finances / legal.

    It's $10/month but I simply love it.

As far as other tools I've used:
    1. Goalscape - good for project planning, awful for task management.
    2. Moleskine project planner - good quality, way too expensive.
    3. Small pocket-size task planner - decent but hard to organize.
    4. BlackBerry task - decent, hard to organize.
    5. BlackBerry Viira 3 - best mobile organization tool, however I don't have a BB anymore.
    6. Remember The Milk - I find the interface awful to use, I don't know why people love it so much.
    7. Google Docs / Evernote - Good, hard to organize ...
    8. Basecamp - Can't see why I'd pay $20 when people prefer to use email instead of this platform.

I plan my day from the evening day before. I usually making a notes of every thing that I have to do when I know about it, then before bed time just go through every thing that has to be done and making a list for tomorrow. Usually works perfect.

I find this the best way. Plan everything the night before so that you can start the next day with direction. Take action and things happen. At the end of each day assess what worked and plan the next day accordingly.

I'm the same as a lot of the posters here. I work exclusively for one client in the mornings, the afternoons are mine to build my business. I write down first thing what I want to achieve for the day and how it can be accomplished, then I get on with it.

A good tip though is give yourself a reward system. You're damn right I'll finish whatever I'm doing if it means I can watch an episode of Game of thrones when I'm done! I'm a procrastinator though, so I need to use that trick to make myself work.

I wing it! No..... seriously though I've spent a great deal of time being the General Manager of store making good money, and if I learned anything I learned the importance of numbers. Setting sales goals and holding people accountable is the most important thing. If I say I'm going to get to get 5 new customers today, you best believe I'm getting 5!

I am a note book person as well but one thing I do is to make sure I take breaks and walk away from my computer.

I've been using a PlannerPad for years. Old fashioned but it works for me and helps me prioritize. I start my day best with exercise rather than email. These past few weeks I have set a daily income goal (as opposed to monthly or yearly0 and it's really helped me to ramp up my income considerably.

I wake up in the morning, workout, ice my shoulder, eat breakfast, watch lil bit of TV, then hit the computer. I follow a daily marketing plan that makes marketing a breeze - and effective. I suggest you create a daily marketing plan also.

I have learn from Warriors here to focus on activities that will grow the business forward. For example I am growing my own list of subscribers, there are 2 questions that I will ask myself daily:

    1) Did I send out an email that provide them with good content or recommend good resources?

    2) What are the activities that I have done to grow my list of subscribers? I will have my own marketing plan where I will be able to know the list of things that I need to do daily to get more traffic to the website.

There are many activities that can distract people and it will be a good reminder not to be distracted by other activities that do not improve the business bottom line.

i use pomodoro cycles. https://kanbanflow.com helps me keep things organized.

I use that and my trusty college ruled notebook that has never crashed or randomly deleted itself once on me...lol. Even when i spill Dr. pepper on it, it usually remains readable.

I am doing a traditional way of organize my daily work. basically, I am using Google calendar and write my daily activity the night before I sleep. And when I am about to work, I just simply read my schedule that I wrote last night, and if it is task is too much, I will print it right away. I just need to remember the priority of each task and everything went well till today.

I used to start my day listing out my possible tasks for the day (I usually have it on Google Calenday) and project management (I used ASANA).

I know that time management very important so if you have listed all your tasks for a specific and have it scheduled properly. Well I can say that you'll be more productive and accurate.

    Hope it helps.

Evernote has been a great help to me for the past few months, it's very light on my PC, it is always appear on the desktop, so it's keeping me from procrastinating or distracted by something else. I also remove the entire icons on my desktop to make sure I keep working the entire task written on the note.
