some help on WP plugins please!

Hi everyone,

I'm taking action and am in the middle of creating my own video info product with a bonus PDF. I don't have a lot of money to spend, so set up an account on fiverr 12 hours ago and so far have completed $30 worth of gigs. I'm going to keep my fiverr gig until I actually have enough capital to buy the stuff I need to get going.

seeing as I'm starting on a shoestring budget I've chosen wordpress as my delivery platform and when I have enough gig money I'm going to buy wpleadrocket. I'm looking for advice on other plugins that I should get to make my whole sales process easier. For example, what do people use to do their OTO's on the back end? Is there a plugin that I absolutely should not be without in my first time endeavour?

You don't really need a 'plugin' as such to do OTO's. A OTO is just an offer you display after someone has purchased the initial offer. It is usually up to your payment/delivery platform as they are the ones that control the url people are sent to after purchasing. That is when you want to send people to the OTO url.

You don't need plugins or WordPress at all.

I would not go into it thinking that "I need plugins" You don't.

Everything can be done with simple HTML.

As for OTOs, all they are are another sales page that you have your checkout software (clickbank, jvzoo, paypal, whatever) point to.

Having money set aside for extras (plugins, graphic design, etc) is great...but I would not "plan" out what plugins you "need." If you come to a fork in the road and you decide you want a plugin, then go for it...but you don't need any.

First of all Kudos for you for deciding to take action. Seldom do people realize that deciding to do something sets them apart from the majority of the world. What exactly are you promoting on fiverr? Is it something related to your course How much start up capital were you trying to raise?

My fiverr gig is straight up article writing and a bit of translation - it's totally unrelated to my end product which is in the weight loss niche, it's simply a means to an end The reason I was choosing wordpress is because I've used it in the past to build websites that I flipped. I found it easy to use so wanted to stick with what I know. I am not an artist, or a coder so I'm looking to get the best possible start I can on a small budget.

I basically want to save up for - aweber, leadrocket, a solo ad campaign, initial clickbank posting fee (although I did consider JVzoo as a lower cost option) etc. My main concern apart from cashflow is getting affiliates when the time comes, so thought it might be better going with clickbank. I think overall I'll need about $150 but I'm not sure.

I am using the free plugin s2member on all my sites. Most of them are membership based so the customer creates an account so he can access download files, updates, and anything I offer. In this way, I have their email addresses so I can send them another offer, or I can just display another offer on the download page. There are 5 default levels so I can sell them a higher level access for more money.

I'll look into the s2 plugin - thanks for the advice! I did look at wishlist but I just don't have the $300 to spend on a multisite licence right now
