Good Confirmed Opt In Page Example?

Hey,

Having always used single opt in but I've just been informed by aweber that they are changing all my lists to confirmed opt in because excessive spam complaints.

In my internet travels I have come across some really great confirmation pages that I'm sure maximize the confirmation rate, but now that I need one to model for all my sites (by tomorrow), I can't think where to look.

Could anyone link me to a good example or does anyone offer templates for sale?

Thanks,
Charlie.

    Charlie,

I noticed the same thing with AWeber. They are ridiculous when it comes to single opt-in.

So I have 2 lists. One on AWeber which I no longer grow, but still market to... and GetResponse single opt-in, because GetResponse is for the more aggressive marketer and I've never heard of them ever ask anyone to go double opt-in.

There's also ARP3 that you can upload to your server if you have private hosting.

If you go double opt-in just because AWeber doesn't agree with you, then you're missing out on THOUSANDS of subscribers.

    my two cents...

I wouldn't mind it in some cases, but in the case of bringing someone to a register page after they order, it doesn't create a good buying experience to force them to confirm their opt-in to get the product.

I think I might just stop using aweber too.

      Yeah, I think it's a good idea.

Plus I'm finding it's easier to monetize your thank you page with single opt-in. They can go to offers without your fear of losing them as a subscriber for not confirming. Because of single opt-in, I make about as much money from my thank you page offer as my e-mail marketing campaigns each month.

PLUS, this is something people don't think of. Single opt-in provides a better user experience, because how annoying is it when you have to login to your e-mail address to confirm? Smoother process and way more profitable based on what I've tested.

And I used to use double opt-in and lost like 7,000 subscribers because they were too lazy to confirm their e-mail addresses. I wonder what it would be like if I always used single opt-in with GetResponse and monetizing the thank you page from the start.

woudl you say your list is just as responsive in terms of conversions when you are using single opt in vs double opt in?

I would guess it might not be as responsive percentage wise. But I bet it brings in more, profits wise. Because there will be people who will buy a product you recommend in an email, who wouldn't have confirmed had they been asked to.

Confirmed optin subscribers might convert higher, but what would you rather have:

25% click the link in your email, 5% buy, you make $1,000?

          or

18% click the link in your email, 3% buy, you make $1,300?

The first one is more responsive.

Yeah, I don't see any difference in conversion rate than when I used to use double opt-in. It's just that now I can summon more clicks with a bigger list.
