Trust me I know what you mean, it's hard to stay focused and stick to just one thing. I start my day by following a to do list that I created the night before. This makes it so that I don't really have an option of venturing off my set path. Focusing one thing is the key to success, well one thing at a time.

That part I didn't know. I thought you'd been persistent and consistent with your card business for many years?

I was about to ask you the same thing. I have no idea - I've never met her or had any contact with her at all. We just had a mutual friend (though actually I haven't even spoken to her for nearly 2 years, now, I think ).

Steadfast perseverance. Have an end in mind. Stick at one thing till you see it through. Be stubborn at it.

Once you see it through to the end. Go on to next thing. Or maybe get bored for a while till your bored of been bored.

I can relate to the ADHD.

There is nothing wrong with having multiple projects in various stages of production.

(I intentionally changed that word )

What you may want to consider doing is establishing completion dates.

I've found that sometimes a project has to marinate a while. It can be good to have something to work on while something else is marinating.

Last year one of the best things I ever did and at the same time horrifying things I did was nuke my server (out of necessity).

I had so many projects going on that had been dropped or lost. I wound up dropping a LOT of domains after the nuking because I had to think about starting them back up again and it made me really focus on what I actually needed to have as opposed to what I just wanted to have.

Later on I found this cool little app for my ipod which helped me map out what I do have going on - and looking at all the projects at once to see how far spread out I am was revealing.

The app is here btw: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ight-help.html

When you see things visually all together on one board or space it makes it really easy to go through each one at a time and figure out what is left to do on it.

This can be done also on a dry erase or cork board.

You might see projects that you'll realize may take you a year or two to get to - and you can decide to put them way in the back.

I did domains, and also have linked in web 2.0 properties which need attending.

Right now I've got 28 different projects going on. The goal is to get them to a satisfactory completion at which point I can downgrade them to simple maintenance.

Knowing how many, and knowing how much time is left between now and the end of the year, makes figuring out what is achievable possible.

So how many notches are in the bed post Jack?

          You want some sand paper?

Yeah, I know what you mean.
It's called analysis paralysis. (Google it)
Just stick to one method and work with it until you make money
or it's not worth your time anymore.

    Sounds familiar. :-)

I'm with you on the "multiple projects" in various stages of completion, and I have to say if it weren't for having a like number on my "Completed" list, I'd be worried. Luckily for me, I've been working my tail off. Seems to be "the thing to do" if you want to get things done.

As for a cure, "work your tail off" ain't the least bit sexy and is often <gasp!> not fun. If you're working on the right things, yeah, it may be a cure. If not...

    Try gaming. Seriously.

My favorite is HabitRPG.com . It works as a todo list, but you get experience, gold coins, level up and all that jazz when you accomplish a task. Leave a task unfinished for too long and you'll start to lose health.

It's a bit gimmicky, but it works (for me anyway). Oh and it's free.

    Cheers,
    George

Gaming and alcohol destroyed my family. My ex was over exited about that stuff, now he lost me and our 4 kids.

Wait! What? Gaming does not equal gambling.

Ever noticed how we suffer from ADHD at work and OCD while playing a computer game?

The program I mentioned uses this potential destructive mental structure for a good constructive purpose. You create your own daily and one off quests, which can range from the basic (brush teeth, take shower, do shopping) to stuff like: get 3 backlinks for your website, post x times on LinkedIn, write 1000 words for your book, contact 2 potential JV partners and stuff like that. It basically gives you an extra incentive to perform real life tasks, which are otherwise boring and/or gain you little in the short term, but which when added up lead to a huge positive difference.

As for your story, it's truly heartbreaking and I'm sorry to hear it, but this really has nothing to do with it.

Hope all goes well for you.

In other words, you like running after two rabbits and even enjoy it? :-)
It is good to keep you busy all the time, but it can be tricky if you do not have a plan.
It is like reading 3 or 4 books at the same time. Some can do it, others can not. So, I think it is up to you.

Yes I use to run in about 8 different directions, but know i try to only focus on 2 differnent primary niches and stick to them. Do not overlaod yourself by putting too many eggs in one basket. I say only promote 2 primary businesses to keep your sanity.
