    • Hi charles,

no im not asking how to do it.

Im asking if u guys do it.

  • It doesn't hurt. You might want to use a member video as a free promo video too.
  • I do it just in case.

Nothing to lose by watermarking your vids and if somebody decides to pirate your content, at least it'll point back to your site.

    • I dont know.

      Cos its like ads..

U see ads on a free video is alright.

But if u are in a members area, and u see ads.
      Its like not good right?

Cos when i watch video with water mark sometimes it is really distracting and irritating.
But if its a free video i understand.

WHen i pay for something and there is water mark in the members area i will feel like this guy is over doing it. lol.

      Thats why im asking.

I want to do it but i just want to see if its the norm or expected.
  • Yes it gives you a degree of protection.
Of course watermarks can be removed, but most people won't go to the trouble of doing so.
  • water mark is used to keep your product from piracy. so better to use water mark.
  • I don't bother with watermarks because I host unlisted YouTube videos in my member's area.
  • I wouldn't go that far unless you decide to register a company or something similar. If anything just make the first few seconds or last few seconds of the video capture your brand / website.
  • Banned
Why wouldn't you do it? There's no good reason not to protect yourself and your content is there?

    • wow great discussions.

      Theres yes and no team.

I personally dont like seeing water mark in members area.
Currently i just put it at the end of my vid.

Its more of a brand thing, but if anyone were to pirate it, they can just cut the last few seconds away.

but if i put it right in the middle of the screen, its very distracting since im doing a trading course.

There are charts, numbers, trade details etc. To many things to look out on the screen and with a water mark, it adds to the mess.
  • I have never used watermarks in my member videos. Just a preference of mine.

I agree if it's free content you should watermark and have some branding in the video but I don't think it's necessary for member videos. I think people prefer videos without a distracting watermark so I prefer to cater to my paying members rather than include a watermark just because of a small minority who might try and share the videos.

Look after your paying members since they are the ones who will continue to buy your products if you treat them right.

    • Will, we seem to have the same ideology.

I feel the same way too.
