Affiliate marketing without any list

Okay I am really new to Internet Marketing and this whole "making money online" subject.

I am in fat loss niche and getting 100-120 visitors per day ( mostly from google and direct traffic). Very few come from twitter and FB.

Right now I am just making pennies a day from adsense.

I have read that the power is in the list, but my list is tiny right now. I do have a free ebook offer, but not getting too many opt-ins. I need to work of building a list but thats a separate topic of discussion.

I went to ClickBank and narrowed some products I would like to promote.
My question is, if I write ClickBank product reviews, do I have any hopes of making sales.

So again, Is it possible to make affialiate sales just by wiritng product reviews on your blog. No LIST for now.

yes you have every hope of making sales, if your traffic is primed and ready for a sale and your page text is written to make the sale....The key is really to grab your traffic from the right stage in the buying cycle. you want them all already to reach for their credit card, it makes your job much much easier.

I don't know. I know only that I wouldn't be able to make sales that way. Especially in a niche like that (and I wouldn't dream of trying!).

The last person with whom I had a conversation in a thread here about doing that had had 3,000 visits to his hoplink/sales page, which resulted in the grand total of 4 sales (of which 2 were refunded). And I think that was probably, overall, 2 sales more than many people get.

In my opinion, there's not much to discuss, here: if you want to make money by selling ClickBank products, the primary purpose of your website should be to build your list. It's about as simple as that.

Here are two threads which will help you ...

Without Building a List, How Consistent is Your Income from Affiliate Marketing

There are a few hundred threads in this forum with titles like "What's The One Thing You'd Do Differently If You Were Starting Again Tomorrow?". Take a look through a small sample of them, and you'll find that one of the things they all have in common is that they're full of replies from long-established, successful Warriors almost all of whom give the same answer: the thing they'd do differently, with what they know now but didn't know when they started, is "start to build a list on day 1". There are reasons for that, and they're very good and very valid reasons.

Agree with Alexa here! But it took me a while to really "grasp" the meaning of "the money is in the list"! I used to promote CB products without a list and that was back in 2007 when article directory marketing was already crumbling! I did make some sales but I realized later on that of all the people who came to my site, only a few bought from me! I hadn't put on that 'fish net' called an opt-in box and when I realized that, I was well P off! My fault!

There are tons of threads on list building and I believe that Alexa's already given you the threads! So, there you go! Now, ACTION!

      Good luck!

Goes to prove that Internet marketing is NOT EASY. In fact is very tricky and requires a lot of work( web design, content generation, marketing, list building, building relationship, trust, rapport etc).

I am just trying to see if I can make any decent side income. So far, I am not seeing much light

Affiliate marketing can be done without a list but it is a much harder way to get sales.

Once you have a list even if they do not buy off you the first time, they may do so in the future

I agree. Building a list is so important. I would start by making daily blogging posts in your niche.

Look at the SALES PAGE on the products you are promoting and find the pain/pleasure Triggers in the sales page. Then, use these (which have proven to convert if the Clickbank product you are promoting has a significant gravity score). Write the post around the pain/solutions trigger.

Then, begin to drive traffic by finding a forum that matches the pain/problem your niche addresses and begin leaving relevant comments that are helpful. Eventually, you can find those forums that allow you to leave a signature and if you are truly helpful, your visitors will begin to visit your blog to find out the answer to their problem.

Then, you might consider adding an EXIT popup plugin such as List Farmer or Optimize Press to capture your visitors to follow-up with them. The most successful products I have promoted is because of mine or the product's own valuable follow-up sequence since most of us do not buy at first sight.

Hope that helps! Kristie from Georgia

If you do decide to focus your site on list-building, get rid of other distractions on the page. Adsense earns you pennies, and for that your potential subscriber has clicked away, likely never to return.

Without a list, it's kind of hit or miss. Most of the time, people don't buy the first time they visit a site or see a product. It takes multiple exposures to turn them into a buyer.

This is where the email list comes in. If you can capture their email, you can expose them to whatever you're promoting multiple times, keep them coming back to your site, and earn their trust.

Agreed. I wouldn't just buy a product the first time I saw it. I would do a lot of research...So I need to build a list....

Most people "fail" in internet marketing. Including most people who try listbuilding. Most of the "list emails" I get aren't worth reading, either. But that doesn't mean that it "doesn't work". Far from it!

Yes. Be exceptional. Learn to do it properly and be in the very small minority who hit the jackpot.

Only a couple of things! Find out about WHAT YOUR AUDIENCE NEEDS! Don't flood them unless you know they won't mind ( that's hard to know, I agree) and BE CREATIVE!!!

Your subscribers want information more than anything else! You say that "most people delete emails or hardly ever read them"! I'd ask myself the opposite for instance.

What would make my subscribers WANT TO KEEP ON READING MY EMAILS? WHAT WOULD MAKE THEM WAIT EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS FOR ONE OF MY EMAILS?

Answer these two questions, and I am sure you'll come up with good creative answers!!

      Hope this helps!

      Good luck!

You could jump off the cliff. Would you?

You could travel across USA by train or car for that important meeting. Or you could just take a flight. What would you do?
