Need a Website Drag and Drop Builder That Converts to HTML

I have no clue how to use HTML, but I enjoy using drag and drop website builders. But I like to create websites and sell them, but I rather design it myself because some of my web designers take longer to get the job done on time compared to me getting it done myself.
So I would like to see if there is a drag and drop website builder that converts to HTML so I as soon as I design the website myself, I can send the coding to the person I am selling the website to without waiting on my web designer.

Any thoughts?

  • Hi,

There are some WYSIWYG editors (What You See Is What You Get) but if you want to do quality work you'll need more than that. You can also look into CMS (Content Management Systems) but here again you'll do much better work if you know at least some basis of HTML and CSS. which isn't that hard to learn, I'm not talking about becoming an expert.
Anyway, you can have a look at Kompozer (formerly Nvu) or Blue Griffon if you're looking for free WYSIWIG editors.

    Seb.

    • Unfortunately a lot of the "drag and drop" editors out there aren't very customizable. If you really want to design your own sites and make it as simple as possible I'd say use Wordpress or even just learn the basics of Dreamweaver. Neither are really drag and drop but they're easier to use than writing everything yourself.
  • This is what I use...

    FusionHQ Internet Business Platform

It has a drag and drop website/sales funnel creator, built in autoresponder, cloud hosting and membership software all in one. It allows for easy export of the created website.

    Cheers,

  • Not sure why you would want to go into business building websites when you don't know how to build websites? Doesn't make sense to me?

    • I don't think your comment will help him in any way

He said he likes to build websites - shouldn't he do what he likes to do? :p

    • I have done well with drag and drop websites and have made good money out of them, but yes I do not know much HTML, but as long as my customer is a member of a drag and drop website provider, I can build the website for them. But I am doing very well establishing existing businesses my self I would like to build a website and deliver it to the client in HTML form instead of them becoming a member of the drag and drop site builder.
  • Try using Weebly or Yola. Both have drag-and-drop interfaces for web design and the end result can be exported to HTML. They also have free/paid options for design/hosting/other features and the templates are professional enough to rival Wordpress. I use them both and like them (specially Weebly).
  • I have seen a few drag and drop website builders, one was done by a designer here on the forum, that seemed to be nice. You basically moved modules around etc..

As far as I know there is NO program that allows you to do both easily as a drag and drop function.

There are web developers, and designers, the designer designs the skin, the developer takes the skin and turns it into an active website.

There is a Photoshop third party plugin that will allow you to take a skin design, and if you design it properly with the layers being labeled properly, it will convert the skin into html/css.

Let me know if you find what your looking for, I am curious to see what you find.

But honestly, the best way to go is to get a grasp of html/css and even some get a basic understanding of php. I am not saying become an expert, but you really can't be a web designer/developer without that knowledge.

You could be a skin designer for websites, just designing the psd layouts and hand them off to coders, but that takes great layout design and Photoshop skills.
  • 90 Second Website Builder is pretty good software that I used for HTML site. Very easy to use.

    • Looks interesting, but their templates seem to be early 90'ish in style, really outdated.

  • I bought a product called "profits theme' It is drag n drop. Create squeeze pages, websites, sales letters. Check out the demo on their website. It's a word press plugin.

  • I personally use Wordpress. I have been building my own sites for many years. I started with a program called Hotdog and then moved to BlueVoda which was WYSIWYG program. This was a long time ago over 10 years ago, maybe 99-2000. Really old stuff...

The standard now is Wordpress. It took me awhile to switch over because of the learning curve of wordpress, but when I did switch it has made a huge difference. I love wordpress because it's easier and you have plugins so you can customize a site for whatever the niche is.

There are also a massive amount of themes to use to make it even easier.

You can also really dig in and do advanced editing with CSS using wordpress and it is coded in html for you so if you know html you can edit the site.

Also when you sell the site your client is able to log in and add their own content without you having to always update their sites...

    Have you tried wordpress?
  • There's a bunch of these coming out now:
