Anyone Get This Email From Paypal?

So in the last week, I have received 2 emails from PP advising that 2 different subscriptions have failed.

Both come out of a savings account which has plenty of money in it to fund the payments.

In my PP account, I have a back-up credit card source that is current & financial.

The emails from PP state this...

<<The payment for your subscription to (I deleted the name here) failed because you do not currently have a back-up funding source for your instant transfer payment. (I deleted the name here) has been notified of this failed payment>>

When I contacted PP that nothing in my PP account has changed, & that I do have a back-up funding source, & that nothing with my bank details has changed, they responded telling me to ask my bank why.

Doesn't make sense to me......the bank doesn't stop payments coming from a savings account that is cashed up, & the PP email states that it is because of a lack of back-up funding source?

Any ideas? Thought I'd ask before banging my head against the wall with them about it a second time.

Thanks.

Contact these subscription owners and have them allow you to resubscribe at the rate you were at and change your back up funding to a checking account instead of a savings account.

You bank may have changed their policy of allowing these transactions from a savings account.

I have had this happen to me when I opened child paypal accounts, which caused my subscriptions to fail at PayPal and PayPal had no idea why that happened but it was a PayPal problem that time.

The owners did help me get my accounts back to normal.

I hope this has been helpful,

Perhaps just some kind of temporary payment authorization problem?

A bit like when you can't use your card to buy something and the retailer and bank blame each other. But 5 minutes later it starts to work.

    Just a guess.

    Cheers,

I think you can just have a backup payment as they require that to fund you the money. Add 1 credit card or debit card, verify that, and you'll be just fine (according to paypal).

I once faced the same problem that required me to add and verify a backup funding. Once I did that, everything was cool n fixed. Get into the business again. =)

      Thanks for the replies.

I have a back-up source (cc), so if there was an issue with the primary, the back-up should kick in, if I understand correctly.

I will probably have to contact the subscription owners as suggested. Have fired off another email to PP so we'll see how it goes.

All part of the fun, right:rolleyes:

Was it added after the subscription started?
If so, it's possible for your account to have a backup, but not the subscription.
Yeah, it's stupid, but that's PayPal for you.

    Hey Steve,
There's usually another subscription attempt made a couple of days later. Did it mention that in the email?

This happens to many of my subscribers every month. It will automatically try two more times.

Several people contact me every month saying the money is there but it is failing.

There seems to be a glitch somewhere as the payment often fails twice but succeeds on the third round.

Thanks guys, appreciate the time taken to chime in.

I'll wait for their response this second time round & see what eventuates.

I think it's often luck of the draw as to the response you get - depends on the level of knowledge of the person responding.
