Selling Domain Names?

Hey guys,

Where would be the best place to sell a domain name, no website just the name that u have purchased. I did a google search and found a site called sedo.com? All the sites on the marketplace had 1 bid, does anyone know why?

Also what would go for more:
.org.uk
.co.uk
.us
.eu
.info
.me
.biz

Thanks

.info or .co.uk are the most demanded. The rest have lower or little value. .me and .biz may have value in a few years.

In most cases a .com will sell for the highest amount. Having said that you might be able to quickly flip and .net, .info, .biz version of a .com name for a decent amount.

    Places to sell domains

    sedo.com
    tdnam.com
    snapnames.com
    afternic.com
    dnforum.com

There are lots of others...be aware that the charges at these sales site vary quite a bit.

If you're looking to buy names for resale, stick to .com or country codes (for relevent names) until you know what you're doing.

Also, to get an idea of selling prices for various domains and TLDs you can take a look at DNJournal.com. Shows you highest sales each month and has a long history.

I've got to say that if you've only recently registered your domains then it's unlikely you'll sell for much, certainly at the forums which are filled with experienced domainers.

Name registering and selling is big business, valuable terms will already have been mined many years ago.

Unless you can find a domain which no one has thought of that has value to an end user, the most likely way you'll find anything now is to look ahead. Think of new technologies, set up some news feeds and try to get in before the herd.

As an example...3D TV...appears to have hit the news recently as one of the next big things...but all 3DTV (or vast majority) are long gone. The trick then is to start thinking of what goes with 3DTV....guide, guides, news, reviews etc etc

If you have any non ASCII language knowledge, then you can look into IDNs (Japanese, korean, Arabic etc) though even with these they've been heavily registered and you'd struggle to find any single word generic names free.

Out of your list I'd have said the co.uk is likely to have most value at this point, although heavily depends on the domain itself.
