How do you post a link in your signature so that it doesn't show the whole URL?

I know where to go and to edit my signature but for some reason when I put in my link instead of showing a simple title, it shows the entire URL.

I'm not the best with simple HTML, if a kind warrior could please help me I would really appreciate it thanks.

As you can see there's an absolute mess below this post and I don't know what I'm doing!

You are using HTML. Which is not allowed. Use the BB code.

It should be like this, only without the spaces:

      [ url = http://www.YOURSITE.com] Anchor text here. [ /url ]

This is what that looks like without the spaces:

      Anchor text here.

For the record, you're not allowed to use pre-made affiliate pages that are given to you by the company, whether they're hosted on your own site or not.

Or just highlight the word that you want to link to, and press the the button that looks like a globe with a little link of chain next to it.

Then you can add the link there.

Yup, that is the easiest way to do it. But that still won't fool the mods if that is what you are trying to do....

That's the classified ad section. He paid to post that ad. That's the only place on the forum where you are allowed to post anything with an affiliate link. You don't pay for your signature and the rules say no affiliate links.

The rules for FREE signature lines are different from the rules for classified ads that someone pays for.

Type in plain text, then highlight the text, then select the link button on your sink bar, then input the link you have chosen.
