Opinions please on a different affiliate offer

I have a complicated affiliate question and hope this community may be able to advise.

We are bringing out a very inexpensive stock market investment product in June. At $5.97, it cannot support paid advertising so we will try to make the launch go viral on the social networks using Kyle Graham's great program, Wildfire.

We have hired a VA to set up Facebook pages etc. and to recruit some people willing to contact friends. Everyone who opts in to the landing page will get a 10-part professional video series providing some tips for successful investing. The thank you page will then offer a $127 software gift that will be a magnet for investors free to anyone who has three friends opt in to the site.

So far so good! But I want to make sure there is a backup plan to make the launch a success. That's where affiliates come in but I don't know if our unusual deal will be attractive enough. That's where your advice would be helpful. A $5.97 product cannot offer meaningful commission so here is the alternative I propose:

We are bringing out a multi-hour set of recorded interviews between two investment professionals, each segment to discuss a particular aspect of investment strategy. That is planned for August and the price is expected to be $47. We would:

• Give affiliates who help us with the viral launch (and only those) 85% commission on this product. The only reason it's not 100% is to cover production and shipping costs;

• The $127 product - the most detailed return on investment calculator we have been able to find - will be available at the time of the viral launch with these specific affiliates keeping 100%; and

• Affiliates will share with us the names of those people they recruit to sign opt in for the free video series.

The $127 product will be available in June when the viral launch takes place, the audio package after editing should be ready in September, and people to add to affiliates' lists will be available right after our launch. And just to be clear about one thing: names added as a result of an affiliate's efforts will be shared with that affiliate only.

All affiliates will be asked to do is mail their friends on the social networks of by email. We will provide the message or affiliates can write their own. Those who want to do more will be most welcome. Our target audience is between the ages of 35 and 65.
