Is it really that possible to have 30,000 - 50,000 visit per day?

Hi guys,

Recently i have receive a email from one IM, i forget the name as there's too many email to read..i know it bad to read too much at one go..haha

Anyway i remember i saw a sentence that it's possible to get 30,000 - 50,000 visit per day...i was like...is it real or...

So i was wondering whether did anyone here manage to do it? Also what how does one get this kind of traffic? By having your website at the 1st page in google will do?
Is there any way to get better traffic other than ranking 1st page in google?

You can reach 30k if you rank 1st on google for a very high competitive keyword.

Of course there are other ways that can help you reach that kind of amount but SEO is your best choice if you want large quantities of traffic.

I'm on the first page of Google for a lot of keyword terms, but I've never come close to that. My best day was a little under 10,000.

Hmmm, depends on the keyword. If there is no competition and you are first in Google..does that count? a-marketing that is NOT true about the numbers of visitors because you are number one. But the old addage "Build it and they will come" is long over. You need to market the heck out of it, build a following (which I am doing on Twitter) there are no slack days that is for sure

For the topic getting more traffic...do something newsworthy..get the attention of the nation. Research your genealogy and find out who really is related to you.

Im sure sites like FaceBook, and Myspace would certainly tell you that it is possible. There are many sites that get that much traffic, but not me...yet.

Hmmm, so we do have to add sites like facebook / twitter / Myspace to increase our visits?
But does getting that much of traffic generate more cash? I see some niche even though it's visitors is less than 5k but still generate alot more cash. Is it the way they target their audience?

Last year on one of my niche sites, I hit the front page of MSN Live, not the search but the features and that delivered about 150k visitors a day for 2 straight days...

Yeah, it's possible..... If the name of your website is Google.

I guess a decent site with alexa ranking below 10,000 (no cheating) can reach this number.

what is the use of visitors if they don't buy from you. When I started my online business I tried some of them to get 50,000 visitors or 100000 visitors for $50/60. My track record shown that the requested numbers visited my site but they were simply visitors not buyers. So we need targetted buyers not visitors.

Hi Razer,

Thanks for your info, but you mention a method for getting consistent amount of traffic per day..What do you mean method? Count i as 1 for uploading video per week? writing blog? I am not sure how these can consistent add amount of traffic but this will help me rank well in google? since i will be having a few more backlinks here and there.

  For my free classic literature site, where I don't sell anything but just want readers (I run adsense though), I may see such a number a few years from today. My SEO rank is still bad - I have a decent idea how to make it good but don't have the time to invest (the site is in the GB range in terms of only content - the plain text without any HTML).
  
  I get around 300-500 pageviews only per day. But in a better month when I was listed in another popular site's first page for a month I saw an average of 1000-1100 page view per day. And this all landed in one page.
  
  This tells me that with the right SEO, 100,000 targeted per day is easy in free classic literature. How much one monetizes out of that is another question.

If you get Stumbled, Dugg, or Slashdotted, it's entirely possible to get enough traffic to bring down your server. There are some pretty hefty sites that have been brought to their knees by Slashdot.

Imagine if all three happened at once.

Well, i can of course only speak for myself but imho, it's totally possible. You should first get to the point where you can launch a new site build it up to 1000 daily search engine uniques - this is really not as hard as it sounds.

Then, do the same for 29 other sites and voila, 30k hits/day. Sure thing, it may take you a while to get there - i'm not saying it can be done overnight but it's an achievable goal.
