How Can I Split Test This?

5 replies
I build Amazon review sites and want to see which phrase has the better CTR.

For example, say that I want to see whether "Click here to read more reviews" or "Click here to see what others are saying" has the better CTR at the end of an article?

How would I go about doing this? Which programs would allow me to test this?

    I don't think you can split-test a blog post but in CPA we do split-testing of multiple landing pages and offers to achieve the best conversion.

    Take a look at Prosper202, it's free. I use CPVlab which is simple to use and able to do different kinds of testing.

    You can split test it several ways. For one...you can run it with the button one was for a week. Then run it with the button the other way for a week. Compare stats at the end.

    Or you can use something like Google Experiments (might be a bit of overkill for testing a button).

    If you're using Wordpress. There are plenty of split testing plugins.

    • I have been doing some intense study on A/B testing.

      Try testing without using the terms "click ..." or "Submit."

      Use phrase like "Get your ... Here"

      Specificity is very important on your CTA-call to action. Tell the person what their getting.

      ie.
      Get More Reviews Here;
      Get your Free ... Here;
      Download Your ... Here;

      Check out marketing experiments web site and search for; landing page optimization, CTA, A/B testing. You will be happy you did.

    You can basically use the Google Experiments to have your A/B split testing.
