Software to manage online video-based course?

I'm looking to put a video-based course online... assuming I have the video clips, is there any software that makes the whole process of making a website to contain and manage them easier?

    Hi Lance,
    Wordpress is probably the easiest way to go if you are doing your own website yourself. I have Profits Theme by Welly Mulia it is very good and allowing you to set up your membership site but has a bit of a learning curve. He has just realeased a plugin for wordpress that is very similar to Profits Theme but doesn't do the membership side of things.
    Hope that helps,

    I have used wishlist member along with optimize press and that combination has worked very well for me.

    I would suggest checking out http://udemy.com - they allow you to upload and sell video courses.

    I would recommend this: premium content lock.
    It's a wordpress plugin that I use. Find it extremely useful for managing content. You can even force people to 'like' a facebook post/page to unlock content as well. OR based on what you mentioned above, you can just unlock content to your subscribers

    Assuming you have all the video clips, resources & support suite ready to go;

    1. Free Course

    You don't need much, just upload your videos to;
    • Your host
    • You tube
    • Vimeo
    Create a new post and embed video link to it. Use free player plugins to handle all the control and appearance.

    2. Paid Course

    If you plan to charge your students either a one time fee or a recurring fee, there is NO free option for that. Plus free solutions don't deliver quality. And you know what that mean, don't you! o.O

    You either acquire the service of http://kajabi.com/ they have the most flexible solution for coaches you, plugin all the payments through Clickbank.com (this way you can have handful affiliates to promote you as a 'Guru'. Estimated project cost $100 ~ $250 /month (don't frown/laugh its a rough estimate)

    Buy aMember/Wishlist and get it plugged to your Wordpress by them (it's a free service). Go research a project compatible premium WP theme. Ask the developer to set you up for an extra buck. Just don't forget to get these pages developed by them;
    • Sales page as home pages
    • Squeeze page if someone exits
    • OTO page for "advanced videos"
    • Back office log in page
    Most professionals use either Easy Video Player which plugs directly into Amazon S3, or Wistia. EVP is slower and typically takes 4 to 8 seconds to load, which reduces conversions. Amazon S3 is also a bit of a pain to setup. Wistia is a lot more expensive, but loads in about half a second and is super easy to setup. On a budget, Vimeo is a good inexpensive solution; also very easy to setup.

    Once you have the video up and running, embed it on your page and you're done! Estimated project start up cost $800 & $400 per year.

    3. Paid Course Alternate.

    Go to Guru/eLance/HireACoder or similer site (not fiverr please) and outsource the entire project to a team of different people. Job descriptions you may use;
    WP theme designer (if you love WP) OR You can get the whole site done on Joomla or ASP.net as well
    Video sales letter creator
    Plugin 2checkout/Paypal (if you want to limit your site to US/UK/AU/Canada)
    Outsource the promotion on fiverr if you like or DIY.

    I hope this help,

    To your success!

    I believe you are running a video membership.

    There are ways to do it.
    Some of the suggestions above are good.

    I do it a bit differently.

    I used to run the videos off my website.. The unsubscribe rate is high..
    Nowadys, I use email marketing to send my video to my subscribers..

    1. Upload all my videos to Amazon/Dropbox/iCloud..
    2. Use my autoresponders to send out the weekly video to
    them with the download link.

    The reason I am doing this is that I can condition my subscribers to click
    On my links.. This will help me greatly when I promote my affiliate product..

    I believe in getting subscribers to work/source for my stuffs..
    This will make them always looking forward to read my emails.

    This method is abit advanced as compared to normal video uploading..

    Trust me.. With this method, you will get better responds from your leads.

    Hope you find this helpful.

      How you plan to implement the project?

      Paid membership site?

      if that the case, you can use WP or Drupal. Most popular platform fo content management among information sellers, is the WP. Simply becasue, it is easy to use and many many plugins available so you do not have have programing knowledge, it is secure and fast.

      Your option may be WP + A Good theme + Memebership Plugin (secures your content and deliver per user basis) + Video editor/compressor + Video host.

      WP = Free for every one.
      Theme = Optimizepress, Genesis (A good framework), Profit theme
      Memership Plugins = Whishlist (well know), DAP, S2Member (free + paid versions), Warriorpress (Theme + secure membership management)
      Video editor = Handbrake
      Video Host = Amazon S3 is best to start for free up to 5 GB storahge and grow

      Hope this helps, enjoy!
