Whatever Happened To Sarah Brown of Laycock?

Hi, does anyone know where Sarah Brown (of Laycock Publishing) went?

I am a fan of Tony Shepherd/Sarah Brown products, like their KickStart Course, etc. and Sarah's Job-Haters site. I used to like reading Sarah's blog, but it is no longer. And their ezines have changed a bit too. Some time between March 13th to 20th she sort of disappeared. Anyone know where she went?

I'll admit to liking Sarah too. She offered some good information and good products.

I'm not sure how sustainable the "sit at home and get rich in your jammies" thing is though for the broader market. I don't sell GRQ or IM stuff so I don't know.

I emailed support at Laycock publishing asking Tony Shepherd that very question and no reply. All of the links seem to redirect to his now.

I noticed her emails becoming more infrequent with his presence starting to dominate more with no explanation of her being phased more out of their partnership unless I missed an announcement somewhere, what if she were his pseudonym all along?, just a fun thought.

I've heard more than once that one of them was a pseudonym. I actually always thought it was Tony that was the pseudonym (if anyone was) but he popped out of the woodwork with his own blog, pics etc and she just disappeared. Reading Sara Browns stuff was probably what got me started in Internet Marketing - I used to be an eBayer and bought one of her ebooks. Hers was the first email newsletter I signed up to as well.

Really?, I was just spitballing there, where's Agatha Christie when you need her?

So, if one of them was a pseudonym it would be looking more like her in light of Tony's growing presence, which would be sad, I really liked her, and in that case if she were a pseudonym, someone did a hell of a convincing job enough for me to buy 3 of "her" ebooks!

        Now that's marketing.

        The plot thickens...

Maybe he/she is doing so well that they are now
living the Internet lifestyle and they are having
drinks on a beach some where.

Or maybe she's doing so badly, she had to get out and get a real job, lol.

Haha.. I like that. For someone so full of hate for working for "the man", it would be almost criminal for her to go out and get a job of her own.

With that said, I did like her "tone" of writing and bought a few of "her" books on ebay myself. It'd be a shame to see her retire early*.

*NB... even though I feel I do well for myself on here, I'm too adicted to give it all up for the beach lifestyle.

I noticed the same and have been thinking it was Tony all along. Thats ok...I think both/Tony really do care about their customers and their writing is some of the best.

If I ever come out with my own product, I will follow in their path in terms of how they treat their list. They are top shelf

Little bummed if she weren't real though, however it is the quality of content and service he provides that counts at the end of the day. He probably used it an experiment, if it blew up, no harm done to his own reputation.

Can you imagine going to one of his seminars and then asking to see Sara? He'd be doing one of those "hang on, I'll be right back" scenarios where Sara and Tony are like Superman and Clark Kent, never in the room at the same time.

Tony's got to be even a little amused if he ever reads this.

Let's hope that Tony hasn't recently had a new patio laid.

I'll ask him on Thursday at Bob Puddy's seminar.

    Hi Guys,

Tony Shepherd here - sitting in a dress and wig typing as Sara Brown :-)

Laycock Publishing is co-owned by myself and my missus, and we've written together since the start of Laycock.

Sara Brown isn't her real name though, and the pic is a stock image.

When she first started online it was my suggestion she use a pen name purely because I wanted to keep her away from the dodgier side of the internet.

If you saw some of the things we've received in the mail you'd know why LOL, especially when the kids came along too.

To be fair too, we wanted to stay away from the 'husband and wife team' thing, which always seemed a bit tacky to us!

We still write together (in fact we're working on something right now), and our products - Kickstart Course, the PLR sites and the ebooks going right back to the start of Laycock Publishing are mostly produced the same way.

The reason Sara is taking a back seat now in terms of profile is because she's running her own successful non-IM business too.

And of course now we have two small children so they come into the equation too -
Sara's not gone away, she's at Playgroup with the kids!

Had fun reading this post, but the wig is getting itchy and these high heels are kllling my feet.

Thanks - sincerely - for the great comments about Laycock Publishing on this post!
    Cheers

Tony, you can get software to "age" photos these days so she does not have to retire permanently!

Ha! Good one. I remember in an interview with Jez Walters (is HE a real person) where 'Sara' was asked if she was Tony's wife. She said memorably: "His wife would have something to say about that". While we're spilling the beans, Who was Jez Walters? Let us know Tony: not just because I've bought some products from you guys.
      So who/where is JEZ???

Well, thanks for clearing that up! I've been researching to find out where Sara went, of course I should have come here first!

Tony, I'm so relieved Sara wasn't you in drag, I remember having a bit of banter going with her! I loved the way she wrote and the positiveness of her attitude, but I understand why you'd want to shield her from the 'weird and wonderful' people of the Internet!

Might start the: Bring Back Sara Brown! Fan club!

Now, there was a Jez Walters mixed up with all this. Was this a mythical being? One wonders. Jez answer up if you're a unique identity and you're out there!
