Affiliate software that tracks even with free trial?

Hi there!

My start up will offer a 7 day trial of it's product, with out even asking for the prospects e-mails (yeah..pretty radical and maybe stupid,hum...)

I wat to put a affiliate program together, but i'm afraid that the software that we may use wont track the prospect till he/she decides to buy the product (something that can take the whole week of the free trial, of course - or even more).

Is it jus' me being a noob, or am i facing a real problem here?

They should all do it provided the cookie lasts long enough.

Initial affiliate referral sets the cookie and gives the customer the trial.

Later when the customer returns to your site to pay, the cookie is still there, can be detected, and the affiliate credited.

    Clickbank offers 60 day cookies.

So affiliates would still be rewarded for any sales made up to 60 days after the download.

Maybe I'm missing the point here. If you are offering a free trial don't they have to give you their email to receive the free trial?

      Not necessarily.

he said he is not collecting emails so I guess he is just allowing people to download the free trial software that locks itself after x amount of days so people then want to unlock it.

Not at all uncommon. The free download sites are full of software programs that do exactly this. Try before you buy. Certainly not a new concept for software.
